Does your child qualify for services?

Have they ever had services in the past?

What have your experiences been?

Nathan started receiving vision therapy through Early Intervention and the School system when he got his glasses...
it was a nice experience for us. She came to the house once a week... and got him to do some hand/eye coordination activities and such.
She still sees him once a week at school.

Alexis qualified as soon as she got the VI diagnosis. She has been receiving services since she was 6 months old. She has a therapist come to school 4x a week now. They are working on pre-braille and braille skills, hand-eye coordination tracking and visual-motor skills. I am so glad that she has always received services. I am not super fond of the therapist she has right now, but hopefully next school year (we ran into a problem because her placement came 2 weeks before school started) she will have one that I like better.

I know that Prevent Blindness at www.preventblindness.org helps to offer services to people who can't afford it.
