What a long day.... after our two hour drive up there...
our appointment was at 210... we left at 410!
They had to dilate his eyes 2x because it didn't work the first time? I think the nurse put in the wrong drops the first time?
N-E ways... new prescription.. slightly tweaked.....
still testing at 20/60 in the left eye with his glasses on.... Dr says he hates to do it but if there is no improvement by our next appointment then Nate will be going on drops...
So we are bumping the patching up to 4 hours a day now and we go back on August 8th... which is real nice...
###### gas prices...
because 2 weeks before that appointment we will be driving the two hours to Ft Worth for his Pulmo appointment....

Also with the drops.. .we will have to see how things go... last year the school didn't want him patching at school.. so he would have full use of his vision.. which was fine.. but he was only going for 3 hours a day... this year he will be doing a full day which means he may have to have the drops in his eyes in the mornings not in the afternoon when he could be tired and his eyes aren't at their best anyways... so depending on what the school thinks will depend on whether he goes or not I guess?
It's not kindergarten so it's not mandatory.....
N-E ways that's my day... now I'm home and vegging out on the couch with the laptop....

Wow, what a long trip. Good thing you waited to get his lenses fixed, lol.

N-E ways, I know you wish it could have been better, at least there was no loss of vision, so that's good news!!!! I hope the drops and increased patching is beneficial for him.

I would definately contact the school and talk to them, and see what they say, most schools, if it is medically necessary, are pretty accomodating, so hopefully they will be very willing to work with you to figure out what's the ideal situation.

Yeah If we go to the drops.. I'm going to call his Vision therapist... she is through the school system and she was the one who visited him weekly when he was under 3 and in Early Intervention... now she just sees him during school once a week... but I have her home number and cell number.. so I will call and run it all by her to so she will know what to do!

Now I have 2 more pair of glasses to retire for nate, lol.. the prescription sunglasses and the ones he has now... it cost the same to get new lenses/glasses with out new insurance so he might as well get a new pair...

good luck, i hope the extra patching works, i'd imagine the school will accomodate if need be and you could always get dr to write a brief summary if you have to, to explain his needs.
