It has been exactly 5 years since Alexis was diagnosed with her SOD. She was diagnosed on the first anniversary of 9/11. When we got the appointment, I didn't even think about the date. My family was one of the luckier ones. My brother lived in NYC at that time, but was no where near the towers that day. It was really rough for us but we were finally able to get ahold of him. So i guess today is doubly emotional for us, not only the towers, but Alexis' diagnosis. I don't think I will ever be able to forget what day she was diagnosed.
Now enough about me and Alexis. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those lost on 9/11, their families, those that have survived and their families, FDNY, NYC police, and everyone else. We have no words to express our condolences to those that were lost, our best wishes for those who survived, and our deepest gratitude for those who risked their lives that day. God bless
