i think so too, it's nice to make people aware of it, and when they are open you get a real sense of how they cope with it and often it's quite surprising how well they do given their hectic lifestyles. So long as it doesn't make the child uncomfortable i suppose!
I know what you mean, but I agree that its good to get people talking about it and in the news. I was also reading a story about Colin Farrell's son who has a very very rare disorder (not vision though). Its good to get people aware of it and bring it to the publics attention.
