Hello ladies! I am new to this board but not JM. My name is Jodie and I have 2 little boys Nicholas who is 8 and Gavin Jon who is 2.

Nicholas is nearsighted and has been wearing glasses since Kindergarten. Gavin Jon was just diagnosed with a Lazy Eye and being farsighted (He gets this from me). They are giving him until August to see if anything changes but the Doctor said he is 99.9 percent sure as of August he will be wearing glasses. I myself started wearing glasses at the age of 2 as well.

I hope it is ok if I can join you all!

Welcome. I am Jennifer, mommy to Alexis. She is 5 with septo-optic dysplasia. Her optic nerves never fully developed in utero, but developed enough that her vision is roughly 20/150. She wears glasses as well since on top of the VI, she is extremely nearsighted. Her world is going to be about 10-15 feet with her glasses on.

I hope you enjoy posting with us.

Hi! I'm Jenn, mom to Sarah (3.5) and Joel 9 months). Joel has congenital esotropia and amblyopia... aka, cross eyed with a lazy eye. He is having surgery on April 2nd to tighten his eye muscles. Good luck with Gavin! I'm suprised they aren't trying glasses right now as they already know he is farsighted. I have gotten sone info/help from http://www.preventblindness.org/cgi-local/...s.cgi?pg=topics
Jenn

Welcome!
I'm Sammie, Mommy to Nathan who has ROP (retinopathy of prematurity). He is a surviving twin born when I was 24 weeks pregnant.
He's had laser surgery on both eyes and is considered *legally* blind in his left eye... his right eye so far is holding strong for us! lol.
But he does just fine with everything! He is 3 and a half and has learned how to read the step one, level one books!

Welcome. I have two kids also who are in glasses Chad is 6 1/2 and Kaitlyn is 2 1/2. The doctors are unsure if Chad will drive because his eyes are so bad. Kaitlyn eyes are almost just as bad. But I think they might have more hope. Chad got his glasses when he was 4 and Kaitlyn got hers when she was 14months.
