ok, i'm sure that this has been addressed, but I'm curious about this. When you are looking at a pregnancy calculator, and it says that you are 5 weeks pregnant, does that mean that you are 5 weeks pregnant, or 3 weeks post conception, or what? From what I'm reading it looks like 5 weeks is just based on LMP and not conception, but when you look at the info about where your pregnancy should be, it doesn't make sense to me. Says heart would be created around 5 weeks, but is that 5 weeks post implantation, or 5 weeks from LMP?

AND, if you conceived today, when would you be able to take a pregnancy test? Do you have to wait til a missed period?

They go from the date of your last period because it isn't a sure thing on what day you actually ovulated/conceived so they include those two weeks into your pregnancy. That is what the Drs go by.

Yes, they do go by the LMP. However, when the baby develops goes by actual dates from O. For instance, my 1st pg, they said I was due April 15th. But, when I had my u/s, they changed the date to May 1st (he was born Apr 30th at 7:19pm). 2nd pg, they said he was due March 28th, then moved my date to Apr. 9th. You'll know more once you have an u/s.
