Finally I get to try to have a baby, after waiting for so long (am 25 now, wanted one since I can remember...). I'm officially 14DPO today, but the test was a negative. I'm showing all the signs of being pregnant (nausea, bloating, cramps, breast pain, etc), things that I've never experienced before with a regular period. I'm trying hard not to get my hopes up, just in case.
Is it true the $1 tests work just as good as the $16 tests? I've also read that sometimes it takes some women a lot longer than even 2 weeks before it shows positive. Considering my period is technically only a day late, I don't know if I should get a blood test done or just wait. What is the general opinion of blood tests vs home tests?
Is there any way to cut down on the anxiety of waiting? I constantly feel like throwing up and I cannot sleep (and I don't know if that's just a symptom or what!)

Thanks :3
Rachel

Hope you get a positive soon!!! I am 27 and feel the same way you do....I've waited so long!! We are not trying (not until next year), and not preventing, and though my husband would be terrified, he'd be thrilled too.

I don't know about the $1 tests, but I know alot of people use them, so they seem to be fine.

Have you tried some ginger for the nausea? Nibble on some crystalized ginger (available in health food stores and some grocery stores). I do that if I get car sick and it takes the edge off.

Still negatives...
I'm wondering if there's something else wrong, or if there really is still a chance :/
