im getting one inserted today at 11 am, and to say the least im scared ######less! Im not even sure why im puttin myself through this "pain" ive been warned about. Dh and I decided that we might start ttc in november when noah is 8 months old. Im wondering if its really worth it. But i guess if it totally sucks for the next 6 months, then i wont get one after the third baby is born.

Does anyone have some ideas for what i can expect. My friend said hers hurt like hell as she wasnt on her period, and i havt had a period is 41 or 42 days now. (did a hpt it was - unfortunately).

I am on my second one and both times I've had them put in I wasn't on my period. It didn't hurt at all. Take some Tylenol or Ibruprofen before you go. I know you can get slight cramping, but with me, it was never that bad.

It does NOT hurt at all! If your doctor is good you won't feel a thing! I didn't feel nothing! I told my doc to let me know when it was over and she said it was over already and that it was in. I was like what!!! I didn't even feel anything?! You'll do fine! Let us know how it goes!

it was wonderful. The part that actually hurt was the stupid metal thing they use to open ya up for a good look lol. then there was a slight pinch and it was in and done. Slight spotting today but nothing too severe. I so far love it, and after i have my next baby i will probably get another one. i like how i dont have to remember to take a pill or have nasty hormoans running through my body lol

Which IUD did you get? The Mirena has hormones and I hated that one! I have the Paragard and it has no hormones and I love it! I hate to have to remember to take the pill too and the stupid hormones that comes along with it! Glad it went well for you though!
