Well, with my first daughter.. I was induced at 38 weeks with high blood pressure. (That seems to be the popular thang.. lol) So, I didn't really get to go through all the steps of water breaking somewhere, having contractions, calling doc, going to hospital, etc.....

I must say.. I'm a little nervous about it this time. What if I make it all the way?? Where will my water break? How long do I wait to go to the hospital? What if I wait TOO long then I'm so far along I can't get an epidural (that's important you see.. ) ... I'm just nervous how it'll happen and what I should do!!

I wanna hear stories on how it happened with ya'll.. what you did... did it go fast? Was it anything like you planned or imagined? I'm curious and look foward to hearing some answers!

I worked that day. On my way home I felt a little wet but assumed it was more of my mucus plug because I lost that the day before. I got home and went pee and was spotting. I called the dr. They set me up to come in in an hour. I get there with my mom and they do a PH test thing. Sure enough my water was leaking. So they told me to go to the hospital because I was strep b + and needed AB's. When I was leaving was when I had my first contraction. Got to the hospital and had my son 5 hours later with NO drugs (I'm so proud )

I had my doc appt on wends April 7th . The midwifes told me they wanted me to come back that afternoon for another U/S they said because I was gaining 12llbs a week in extra fluid. They wanted to just check everything out. So I came back that afternoon with my hubby. We has the Us they said they I did have alot of extra fluid and it was possible because she was abig baby at8llbs 8oz they guessed. So they set me up with the high risk doctor for friday April 9th and he did the amnio centisis on me. He wanted to test the fluid to make sure that the reason I had so much was because she was big.Eww that test sucks when he poped the needle in I wanted to throw-up. he made me laugh and boy that sucked with the needle in there. They said the results would be back in about a week or so. they gave me this paper telling me what and what not to do for the rest of the day because of the amnio test. on the list it had no liftin, no sex,and it said you could go into labor. So I came home and relaxed for the rest of the night. The next morning Sat April 10th The alarm clock went off at 5:45 am for my hubby to get ready to go to work, I got up went pee wiped then woosh my water broke and boy it was alot because of the extra flud. TG I was still on my Potty lol. I told my hubby my water just broke he thought I was Joking Im like no look. He goes gets the phone I call my midwife and she said she will meet me at the Hossy. So we went to the hossy. I was without pain meds till 4pm when I got the EpI then they checked me agian and said your going to need a c-section. I was 9cm dialated for 4 hrs. So we went got ready. And they had Emily out by 4:40pm. Her head was wedged into my pelvic bone. she had scratches on near her eye because my pelvic bone scratched her and she had bruises on her body from them trying to get her out. the doctor kept appologizing for them I said hey I would rather have her with bruises and little scrathes then to not have her at all. Emily was born April 10th 4:40pm 8llbs 1oz and 20 1/2 inches long. With huge squishy puffy Cheekies.lol

With Nathan my contractions started christmas morning (i was a week over due and scheduled to be induced the next day) and i refused to go to the hospital till i opened presents and had lunch. because you cant eat once you get there and i was starving! had him at 10:33 pm. What a christmas present!!! and with Madison i was 4 days late and i lost my plug at 3:30 am and called my best friend because i couldnt sleep. Contractions started about 2 hours later and we waited until 1 to get to the hospital because i wasnt in a regular pattern so we went to go eat mexican and they got regular and so st 7:44pm she was born. Only took 5 minutes to have her!

#1 --My water broke in the shower.DH had asked for days so we having a baby today or what.He yelled it through the door & I said yep my water broke. He freaked because I had lent my car to my sister. My sisiter got their within an hour & I was really hurting. At the hospital I was 7 cm.I had her 4 hours later.

#2 my funniest labor I was watching tv w/my dad(we moved in with my parents because I had preterm labor and needed help with my oldest dd)and I couldnt get comfy.my dad looked at me and said either you can call your dr or I am.I went into the office which was 30 minutes from my parents and 45 from my hospital. The midwife said you are not in labor your too happy.SHe checked me and I was at 7 cm.She sent me to the hospital but I wasn't huting so I picked up dh at work & stopped to get some food I was starved. At the hospital I get the your not in labor. When I told her my name she couldnt believe it.They triied to wheel me up to L&D but I walked.I was 9 cm & had my 2nd dd in a total from dr call to baby in 3 hours. This is also the labor my family got trapped in the room by the baby cart, nurses,& dr.LOL some hid in the bathroom!

#3 I went to hospital when I felt uncomfortable per dr orders.I was at 6cms.After about half an hour the dr checked me I was at 9cms.He left and not 10 minutes I told dh to get the dr or catch,The nurse called back she was just checked I was not ready.I yelled well tell her because her head is OUT!The dr came in and she was laying on the bed crying!

#4 I was induced at 42 weeks and we played cards till it was time to push.I had him in a little under 2 hours after my bag ran out.I was on my side & had to be rolled over by dh ouch I thought I was crushing him but his stats dropped & once I rolled they came back up!

Luckily mine where fast and uneventful praying for the same this time!!!!Although I guess I better go with the 1st pain my hospital is an hour away without traffic!

LadyBelle - I love your labour stories for number 2,3 and 4!!!! Amazing!

I never got to go through labour. I was really sick with the stomach flu that day. At night I realized that I hadn't felt Djuna moving much that day and then I started feeling contractions. We went to the hospital and the nurse couldn't find her heartbeat!!!!! They checked with ultrasound and saw the heartbeat but it was so slow the nurse had mistaken in for mine. The dr's freaked out and wheeled me out for an emergency c-section. There wasn't even time for an epidural so I had to be under general anaesthetic. I didn't even get to meet her for 7 hrs after she was born!

BUT.... all's well that ends well!!!!!!!!!! She came out perfectly healthy. They never figured out what caused her to go into distress. But to this day she's been totally healthy and fine (knock on wood).

Maybe one day I'll get to experience natural labour....

With my first birth, I was 1 week overdue so they decided to go ahead and induce my labor. The first time the put me on potossin and I sat at the hospital from 4:30 am until 9:00 that night. I hadn't progressed any so they sent me home. I had to go back 2 days later and do it all over again. I went in at 4:30am and at 6:00pm I still hadn't dialated any. About 9:00pm I was dialating and I finally had Blaze at 11:33pm. With my second I was a week early. I had a doctors appt that day and they told me my blood pressure was high so they sent me for a non stress test and found that I was having contractions. Everytime I would have a contraction, the babys heart beat would slow down too much so they kept me in the hospital all night long and I had Landon at 3:23pm the next day.

Oh where to start. It was Jan 13 around 5pm and I was with my mom helping her clean when I started to have labor pains. Around 830pm I went to the hostipal and they sent me home b/c I was stuck at 3cm. Around 2am, Jan 14, I called my doctor b/c I was in so much and she told me to come in. She examined me and I was still at 3cm, they were going to send me home but I refused b/c I live 25 mins a way and there was a storm on the way. So my doctor told me to walk around and take a shower and if in an hour I hadnt deliated, they were going to send me home. So an hour later, my nurse comes in (really nice and understandable) she said I was still 3cm but she told that i might be in a little pain, and she pushed me to 4cm so I could stay. Now I was in active labor. I took I think 3 hot showers b/c it helped with the pain, and then around 12pm, I got an epideral. I loved it, I couldnt feel my legs lol . My doctor wanted me to sleep but I could b/c I was to excited. In the meantime there was a storm and it took my friends 2 hrs to get to the hostiapal when it should take 15mins. Also my boyfriend was stuck in the storm to.Around 4pm, I was fully dilated and started to push. I pushed for and hour and a half, and she didnt move, she was stuck. I was to small to deliver her vaginal. By this time, i'm in so much pain b/c they took off the epidural and i was feeling contraction every 20 sec.! My two best friends came in to see me and they felt so bad for me. Dan, my friend, said he wished he could of tooken half of the pain. I told him, yeah right. Finally my told me I needed a C-section. I was rushed to the OR and given a spinal. The thing was on my left side, it wouldnt numb all the way, so they gave me alot to where I could feel little on that side. Now they were cutting me, when they got to Rylee so was so big for me, that when they pushed her out, I could feel everything on my left side, I was screaming! Finally she was out at 655pm, she was huge! She was 9lbs. 15 oz. and 22" long, now mind you, before I was preg.I was 110lbs. and 5'2", so now lbs. was a little big for me. lol At 645pm my boyfriend finally might it to the hospital, he missed it but I understood ( I hate lake effect snow)

Um Okay,

So my due date was the same as Hal's sisters kid's bday. And I really didn't want that to happen! So I was exactly 40 weeks but three days shy of my due date (one of them) and I was being lazy and laying on the couch. So I decided that I wasn't going to ever go into labor just sitting on the couch. So I got up and started to do lunges. (Which I got yelled at by everyone who kept calling to check in on me) So I finally stopped doing those, so I swept the floor. I went to pick the sweeper up and put it back and my water kinda broke. I basically felt like I peed myself! So I called my Mom and SIL to see what it felt like when your water breaks. I called Hal at work and told him that I thought my water broke. He was like "shouldn't you know?"

SO anyways, to make a long story short, he had to stop at the bank and take a movie back before we headed to the hospital. We got there and I still wasn't feeling anything. They gave me the max at pitocin and that still didn't make me feel anything. Then I decided to get up and walk around. OH BOY! I felt something. I yelled at them to turn off the pitocin. I was in real pain for about 2 hours and I couldn't take the back labor any more, so I opted for the epideral. Hal's face turned white when he say the needle. and he had to leave the room.

Well, I soon fell asleep and woke up when the nurse came to check on me. 2 hours after the epideral, I began to push and Owen was delivered 30 minutes later. It wasn't bad at all with the drugs!

Well this could be long, but I'll try not to make it long.
#1 Zachary: I had been in labor for 2 1/2 weeks and my dr. finally felt sorry and decided to induce me. So on Jan. 31 I went in and was hooked up to the pitocin, for the epidural about 6 hrs. later, and loved it. 11 1/2 hours after they started the pitocin I felt like I needed to push. 1 1/2 hours later Zachary came out with vacuum attempt, forcep, episotomy and 4th degree tear. (He had a head the size of a 6 month old.) He was 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 21 in. long.

#2 Sandra: New doctors, but mainly midwives take care of me, who decide that I am too small to have another 7 lb. 14 oz. baby. So they decide that they are going to induce me at 38 weeks which was fine with me. So I go into the hospital on Dec. 8th bright and early, they break my water to see if it helps any. Again I had already been in labor for 2 weeks. That didn't work after walking the hallways for 2 hours, so they started the pitocin. 4 hours later Sandra was born after 20 minutes of pushing with a little tiny tear, because she came kind of quick. She was 6 lbs. 0 oz. and 18 in. long.

#3 Anna-Noel Another new doctor, actually midwife. She is wonderful. This time I go into labor at almost 35 weeks. I had the stress of my grandfather being very sick and passing away, so my midwife thought for sure Anna would be here really early. Ha! Not with my body. 39 1/2 weeks I had to be induced. The whole 4 weeks having painful contractions that never made me go past 2 cm. So on Feb. 22 I went in to the hospital had my water broken, it worked some but became too painful. I was trying hypnobirthing but everytime Anna moved she would move the internal monitors and throw my concentration off. So I got an epidural and a little bit of pitocin and had her 6 hrs. after being admitted with 9 min. of pushing. She was 7 lbs. 6 oz. 20 in. long.

#4 Noah: This is the really long story. I started having painful contractions at 27 weeks but they never did anything so I was told to just get used to them because it was #4. Waiting and waiting. On Feb. 2 I had another u/s which showed I had very little amniotic fluid. I was told to go to the hospital so they could induce me the next morning but they wanted to observe me over night. They put in some cervidel so see if they could get me past 2 cms. without pitocin. That didn't work. The next morning at 6:50 they started the pitocin. At 7:10 I was begging my midwife for an epidural. Noah was not tolerating labor at all. They waited a little longer to see if I was progressing which I wasn't and Noah's heartrate was getting lower and lower. so I was taken back for an emergency C-section. I was able to get a spinal though. Noah was born not breathing and blue. He gave us a scare, but after about 1 minute he started crying and started pinking up. His apgars were 3 for 1 minute and 8 for 5 minutes. He was 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 19 in. long.

So if you have made it through this thanks, and sorry it is so long.

1st baby-

I just started having contractions. I never had braxton hicks. As soon as the first one happened, I knew it was the real thing. I took a shower and by then, they were 7-10 minutes apart. I called the hospital and by the time I got there(10 minutes) They were 4 minutes apart..

I got to the hospital and they admitted me. I got a shot of nubain at 5 -6 cms.
They broke my water and I instantly went to 9 cms. It took me about 40 minutes to get to 10. I started to push and 20 minutes later, Jacob was born

My labor was 4 hrs. and 20 minutes. He was born at 320am and weighed 6lbs and 10 ounces.

2nd baby-
After having gestational diabetes and high blood pressure, my delivery was really easy. My grandmother died 1 week before I had Alisha. I had a couple of stress tests because my blood pressure was thru the roof..
They decided to not induce me. I went in to labor 5 days later.
I lost my plug and instantly started having strong contractions. I took a shower and by then they were 5 minutes apart. My dh was at work and I couldn't get a hold of him. He works around airplanes and couldn't hear his cell phone going off!
Finally he called and came home to get me. I got to the hospital. I was 4cm. 20 minutes later, I was already 6cms. They gave me some nubain. Instantly I went to 8cms. an hour later, I was complete and pushing. I started pushing after 3am. Alisha was born at 344 am weighing 8pounds even and 19 inches.
Her labor was 2 hours and 45 minutes!

If I ever had another baby, I would most likely deliver at home... I have very fast labors
