When I had my first son he was unplanned so I just told my husband that I was pregnant. This time I want to do something big. I didnt know if anyone had any ideas or stories about how they told their spouses so I could get some better ideas.

Thanks,
Rebecca

I always said that when I found out I was pregnant, I would make a dinner with everything that had a "baby" name in it. Like "baby carrots" for example. THen keep everyone guessing! But I never did it that way, I was too excited!

I always thought that I would bake a cake and buy a card and put a balloon on the mailbox. This, of course did not happen.
Instead, DH was at the firestation when I found out that I was pregnant, so I paged him at 5:30 in the morning and told him over the phone. He was like, "Really? Ok." and then he hung up. About 2 minutes later, he called back and asked me if I was pregnant or if he was dreaming. I told him that he was not dreaming.

That's a cute story.

Honestly, before I got pregnant I never thought about how I would tell anyone. But now that I have a toddler and want lots more, I think about it all the time!

I would like to get pregnant around a time where I would send out cards - like Christmas ... and then sign it "Love Randy, Ashley, Danny and Baby #2!!!"

Something silly like that.

Well, this is what I wanted to do, but of course, the very second I found out I was preggo, i became a lunatic, and called him asap. But I originally wanted to send him some pink and blue flowers from the florist with a card attached that read, "congratulations on your soon to be new arrival." I wish I had done it now.

That is another great idea!!

But I think if I sent Randy flowers at work he would die of embarressment (he thinks he's a tough *****, LOL).

I'm with you Ashley, I cant stop thinking about it eversince Ashton was born. Our anniversary is coming up and I'm hoping to be pregnant so I can combine this with our anniversary. I think I'm going to get a room and this bed and breakfast we have been wanting to go to. I'm going to buy him 2 presents. Nothing expensive. I am going to have the local grocery store deliver two roses to him at work and the note will say meet me at such and such place at 5:00, and Im going to leave a present in his car unwrapped that has a note attached that says, "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: 15.99(or whatever it is and the price). then I'll leave another present at home for him to find that will have a note that says what it is and the price again and when he gets to the bed and breakfast I will be waiting in the room and will leave a room key for him at the front desk that will have a note attached to it that says "romantic night out for 2 at Chauteau Avalon: 150.00" . When he gets to the room I will have the pregnancy test wrapped up and I will give it to him and when he opens it the note will say, "Finding out your wife is pregnant and you're going to be a father again: priceless".

If I am not pregnant around our anniversary I think I may just take him out to a nice restraunt and buy a cake that has that last message written on it. It is a pretty elaborate deal but I cant wait.

As far as grandparents and family I think I will just send them a picture of Ashton wearing a big brother T-shirt. There are some cute "expecting" cards though. I dont know.

For my SIL I caled her and said, "Hello Aunt Hope." And she goes hello, WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For my parents, I got my mom a frame that said I love my grandma and for my dad a frame that said I love my Grandpa and then I wrote on a piece of paper on both and put it inside the frame and it said, "I will see you in November."

These are GREAT IDEAS!! I was too excited and nervous-plus we weren't planning this- so I told DH asap. Had I got my head together first, I would of loved to try some of those ideas. Lol to those trying!

When I told my hubby (back in early March) I started out by telling him that he was gonna get a really good birthday present this year.....since I am due on his 28th birthday (October 22)!!!

Edited to say so much for all that - my son was a month early!
