Well since we were at the hospital for 11days after the twins were born we announced it with e-mail. There was a library at the hospital with computers available for use, so we both went down and e-mailed our diffrent family and friends. Once we got home I dug out the digital camera and started taking pictures. We have quite a few polaroids from when in the hospital but our scanner had stopped working and the hospital didnt have one available.
We had birth announcements printed and sent out a photo with them to announce Olivia's birth. Jon also rented one of those storks and had pink balloons all over for when we came home
For Mason's, we also sent out printed announcements/photos but found something really fun to pass out as well. We had these Hershey chocolate bars made up (well, the wrappers that is) that said "Hereheis" instead of "Hershey's" and then posted the stats, etc. on back. We passed them out to family and some friends- they were really cute and a big hit! Of course, we had to do the stork and blue balloons outside the house too
With all my kids we called family when we were heading in. Who made it to be there did. Who didnt we called within the hour of arrival. since they all wanted to be called asap it was in the wee hours of the morning.
I called my friends around lunch time from the hosptial.
