For those who have children and don't really need all the baby stuff, I knew someone who gave a diaper shower. Every one brought bags of diapers as gifts. I thought that was a great idea and would be great for us if we have a successful pregnancy again. Also a casserole party where the casseroles are put in the freezer by mommy to help out for after the baby is born.
Linda, mommy to Nikolas & Andrew, 5 year old twin boys and Ember Rose, almost 3.
I helped with my sisters baby shower a couple of months ago. I made the favors. I used all of Jessies old baby food jars washed them out and put tissue paper in the bottom...filled the rest with pastel colored m&m's then I wrote out lables with the baby's name and due date. I did 3 group activites. If you know the name of the baby we did this.
for example. For the start of every letter of the baby's name you write a piece of advice either for the mom or the baby begining with that letter
A~always listen to mommy
L~live everyday to its fullest
L~love with all your heart
I~if daddy says yes ask mommy first
S~sometimes life gives you lemons so make some lemonade
O~only children are not allowed in this family
N~never color on the walls
Then I did baby animals. Fawn~deer, Calf~cow etc
and also did a crossword puzzle as an opener game with questions about the baby mommy and daddy so everyone would have to talk to eachother to get the answers.
At my shower, the guest were given little pieces of paper, with the words "My Wish For You", and they were asked to write a wish for the baby. I saved these and will give them to my kids...
Also done at a friends shower was present bingo. You know how everyone gets bored at present opening time. Make it a game! Make bingo cards with gifts on it, like bathtub or diapers, etc. Then when a gift is opened, guests can mark it down, and when they get BINGO, they get a prize...keeps them paying attention!
Thanks gals could you brainstorm a little more with me. Here's a few questions.
