We rarely eat out but mainly because I can't justify spending a week's budget on one meal. That and I have a hang up about how my food is handled by someone else. I was a chef before I had ds #1 and I saw some not so clean practices in the kitchen. Nothing extreme, but even if someone doesn't wash their hands, it skeeves me out.
When I had DS # 3, the night before I had him hubby resigned from his job. His boss would not give him 4 days off because they would love too much money(he was a chef too) Anyway, he chose his family over his job. Well, this left us financially strapped for quite a bit. This was quite an eye opener on how much we used to spend on take out etc. Now I value the dollar much more :-)

Rarely. Maybe once a month or so. We would love to more often, but it just adds up too quickly.

More often then we should, but still not often. We used to spend too much on movies, but we cut that down real quick. Now, we are working on the eating out.

Too much. We're both really trying to cut back on it, but it's a hard habit to break.

Way too much---the sad part is that my food is much tastier than most foods you can get when you're out.

Before I knew I was pregnant we used to eat out say twice a month but order in quite frequently as I work long hours.

But I'm a bit careful about food being cooked and handled by someone who may not be as particular about hygiene as I'd like. I've heard a lot of scary stuff about food and water borne diseases so I stick to home made, preferably made in my own home!

I know we never thought we could do it, but hey it's been 4 months and I dont miss outside food, but I do miss spending an evening out over dinner and drinks... just a few more months...

but guess what... we're actually not as broke as we used to be.... hmmm... was spending way too much on rubbish food, glad to discover the 'joys' of regular home cooking!

No more than once a week. It's usually just take out, and I use a coupon. Yesterday I spent $10 on all 4 of us. We used to eat out a LOT more, but this new job scaled us back $18K a year.

Usually only for the whole family when we get taxes. It's always take out though, because I don't think right now I could handle taking them ALL out to a restaurant. SOMETIMES DH and I will order a small pizza and a breadstick or something after the kids are in bed

Maybe twice a month, and takeout once. Not really very much.
