What are your financial goals?
Are you wanting to save money? Lower your grocery budget? Pay down debt?

All of the above! We are trying to pay down some debt while trying to save money. Of course, that's not always easy.

Our goal is essentially to keep expenses down as much as possible, so we can continue to live on one income while I'm a SAHM. If we save anything, great. That's icing on the cake!

The goal used to be saving but recent changes make it more like just make due .

We are saving for a down payment on our farm! Of course, with the new baby on the way, we are also paying down medical bills - but this time, we are doing in ADVANCE of the baby being born! I shock myself!

Mostly trying to save money on household stuff. Maybe cereal too, the kids eat that stuff just about EVERY morning.

To me getting stuff for free or almost free is like winning a game lol!

We want to stop renting. We live in a luxury apartment building. Our rent recently went from $2400 to $2650. Just then it occurred to us that our housing costs will just increase year by year. That defeats the purpose of pay raises and what not. We are currently cutting back on expenses to add more to our house savings each month. Hopefully in the next 18 month we will be able to buy a house and renovate it. Every $100 saved adds up!

we really need to start saving money so we can buy a house in the next few years. the rent here is pretty much almost as much as a mortgage now. id rather be putting money towards something that is mine then towards someone else bills.

That would explain your high housing payments! I am always surprised by the varying cost of living all over the US.
