For this week(hopefully ongoing..) get a box or some other container. Anytime you think to or find change/dollars laying around the house, stick them in the box. Now..this money needs to stay in the box. You can't empty out your purse and put it in the box, only to take it back out at the end of the week. My plan is to have a box and tape it up so I can't get to the money. I am going to label it..project home ...I am saving towards my dream home. It may only be a penny at a time, but it's progress, right?. I am going to also encourage my kids to put extra change in there as well. Anyone up for it? Maybe make the box as fancy as you want to make it more enticing. Maybe cut pictures out of a magazine, website etc with what you are trying to save towards? Maybe a fancy car? maybe a new patio set...Anyone game?

Sorry, I can't do this --there's no money of any kind lying around my house. I'm so anal about money that you have to practically pry it from my hands.

this is a great idea. I have actually been thinking of saving my change for a while now, but just haven't done it. Maybe this will motivate me. It'll just be my change though cause DH already saves his change and $'s and the kids like to spend their money.

We just started doing this a few days ago! We don't have a lot of extra money because everything is pretty much accounted for, but we are hoping to take a trip to California in the near future.

I have an old mayonaise jug I use for change. It doesn't have much in it but it does have some change.
