Hi there
Goals for this year are to find ways to save money, become more self sufficient, and get more organized. I can't wait to get started when the weather gets nicer, there is some major cleaning that needs to be done and it's just too hard to do that when you want to open some windows lol
No questions atm

Great to have you!
I'm here! I'm doing well on my goals to work on our grocery budget. I do want to get back into Walgreens and CVS. I have taken a couple months off from that, but am hoping to get back to it soon. I haven't worked much on my stockpile, and have been living off of what we have for non-grocery items.

I still have TONS of stuff in my stockpile from when I started 3 years ago. I do have to say it has come in handy when DD was born and when I hurt my back and was out of work. I have also given allot of things to family members who needed, when my Dad was still alive I used to bring him care packages of things I got since he was on disability and on a fixed income. My mom I helped out allot when she was on unemployment, I tried teaching her how to coupon but it didn't work out bc she didn't have the patients for it. When my one cousin had her baby I made a Mommy basket of things for her that she could use and probably couldn't afford with the new little one in the house. I have replaced allot of it too but a few things. I just miss getting great grocery deals, for some reason in my area they are so hard to come by, so that's where my goal of being more self sufficient comes in, I really want a garden this summer so I want to freeze the stuff I grow for the winter. I also want to start making more things from scratch too.

How are you doing on your goals for this month/year? My son is on a whining/fight every **** thing tear, so to be honest, I don't remember any of my goals.
Anything you are hoping to improve on? The frequency of my cooking. Right now DH does more of it, and I was planning to take on more of the cooking duties. I also planned to bake more.
Do you have any questions? Nothing you guys could really answer. Like, can we survive on just one income, now that I've been laid off.

Sorry to hear you lost your job! Hopefully we can help with ideas to stretch your dollar and help you get by on one income.
How are you doing on your goals for this month/year?
This month was mostly organization but its time to refocus on my stockpile. My cousin has been living with us since the middle of last month. She is pregnant and gluten free so she requires lots of special foods. Ive had to make a lot more space for all her food in my already cramped kitchen. We've been going off our stockpile for a lot of things and now its getting pretty low!
Anything you are hoping to improve on?
YES always... Ive been slackin on coupons lately. Granted, I haven't done the same kind of shopping for a while either. I really need to improve my system to actually cut and file all the inserts that are stacking up...
Do you have any questions?
not at the moment

I think that's great that you help your family out like that I also give a lot of my stockpile to my mom and siblings. My mom got laid off a few months ago, so I've been trying to help her. She has had me try to teach her to coupon, but she ends up just wanting me to do her shopping for her. LOL She tells me what she needs and I know what she likes, so I usually just pick up extras and get the good deals for her.
Making more things from scratch has been on my list, also. I've been improving on it, now that we want to start eating healthier, too. It's actually been a lot cheaper this way and I enjoy it.

I am so sorry to hear about your job. I was laid off a couple years ago, and made the decision to stay home and be a student. It took a lot of tough decisions and planning, but we were doing okay. Then, DH got laid off last year, but thankfully it only lasted a couple months. We have been there, so if I can help you in any way, let me know! Hopefully, this board can give you some great ideas on how to stretch your money and to save whenever possible!

Im here, Been super busy so not much posting.
How are you doing on your goals for this month/year? Not to bad, waiting on tax check to get caught up on bills and then we are going to the cash system, we just seem to be able to sick to dudget better that way
Anything you are hoping to improve on? Just sticking to budget, and eating healthier. Last grocery trip I bought more fruits/veggies, and organic type meats, and I spend $60 over budget. Im trying to figure out how to lower that and still eat healthy. I cant wait until garden season so that will help cut costs.
Do you have any questions? hmmm, I guess my only ? would be is does everyone have a budget? if so what helps you stick to it?? and do you find a "cash system" helps more??

I am also trying to eat healthier and more organic. It has just been recently that we have really started buying more organic. I also buy a lot of produce. I buy the store brand organic items when it is better money wise, I print organic coupons, I price match produce at Walmart, I compare prices at different stores...
We have a budget, but it is not solid yet. I rework it every so often because I am always trying to "squeeze" more money out. LOL What makes me stick to it is seeing our progress. I set a lot of little goals and seeing us hitting those makes me want to continue sticking to the budget. We are currently using the cash system and it works for us. I have heard of it being useful to some and not to others. But, for us, it works really well.

I am here!
I am doing good on my goals! I balanced my checkbook to close out the EOY and found we were able to fully pay off the maternity leave debt we had incured (it wasnt a lot of debt but it was still a little on my credit card). We got to put some money aside for a car. So far I am on track to save my $50 on groceries this month.
I need to watch myself on buying things we dont need (unless its free). Even if its a killer price, $1 on something we dont need is still $1 less than I could set aside. I also need to make sure I am buying enough produce and such to keep us eating as healthy as we can.
No real questions at the moment.

I am here, kind of in and out
My goals this year is to put more money away in savings for sports and trips. So that means cut our expences.
I do want to improve on getting things cheaper Here in Canada coupons really suck.

I haven't posted much on this board, but I'm here.
My goals year are to cut my grocery bill down considerably and work on my savings account. I'm great about saving money on household and personal care items, I get most of it for free and have a nice stockpile, but I'm not so good with groceries. First problem is I don't have enough room in my kitchen, or anywhere else in my house for more stockpile items, second I can just never find great deals on food and third, I hate grocery shopping. So I really need to work on that.

I'm here!! Not too much time these days, lol. I have been doing better watching sales and printing my coupons. I would like to get to the stores before the sale ends. I have been waiting too long, then get busy and miss out. I need to be on top of it!
