Have you made any recent cutbacks to save money?

Not since turning our cable and home phone off a few months ago. But it is soooo nice to have that extra $100 a month staying in the household!

We got rid of cable about a year ago, and wish we had done it sooner! We used to watch a lot of tv, but now we subscribe to Netflix and Hulu Plus. Much cheaper!
More recently, I have stopped driving our truck around as much. We share a vehicle, and I used to take DH to work a lot. I have now cut that down, which saves a lot on gas since we drive a Suburban.

Sharing a vehicle saves a bunch! We have a truck and a car. We drive the car more to save on gas.

It really does! We would love to have 2 cars, but do not want to get into a payment right now and do not have enough saved to pay for a good one. Some day we will, but we are okay with just the one right now

I hear you! Our truck is older and has been paid off for years and our car will be paid off in Aug this year!! We are really looking forward to saving that money instead of making a car payment. There is no way we could make 2 car payments right now.

We cut the data plan off of our cell phones. Since we have internet at home, we really didn't need it. It saves about $45 per month.

I don't have data either, never have. If I was to add it it would cost $30 per month. not worth it to me.

I started riding with DH to church on Sundays. He is a minister, so goes in early and has to be there for both services, so normally I would drive separately. But it's a 50 mile roundtrip, so going with him saves about $10-11 a week - which is $40 a month.
