Have you taught your children about frugal living, coupons...?

How have you approached it?

My children are still very young (almost 5, 3.5, and 1) so I haven't specifically taught them frugal living- however, I've noticed that they are picking up on things just by watching. When my oldest was 3.5 or 4, we were in the store and she pointed to a certain kind of juice that was on sale and said "Mommy, can we get this?! I think you even have a coupon!"

The older two get an allowance now though, so that has been teaching them a bit about money management as well.

My daughter, 5, knows mommy uses coupons. She has asked me before if I have a coupon for something
We try to teach money mangement but I'm not really sure how much she understands at this point.

Awe!!

My daughter is almost 3, so she is still pretty young. She does see me using coupons when we shop though, and she liked to give them to the cashier. When she sees something in the store she wants, she will say "I buy with money" and will check her pockets for money. LOL I show her the coupons and tell her that we are looking for that item, and she will help me look. But, that's about as far as it's gone due to her age

That is a good idea to have her help you find the item. I bet it also helps her busy and not get bored before you are done.
