At the beginning of every month, we create a new budget and immediately transfer the amount budgeted to be saved in our savings account. We try not to leave it in our checking account because it might get spent! If the money is not there then we won't spend it!
I find it easy to save as long as we have appropriately budgeted for our other expenses. If we budget too low, then it can be difficult and discouraging, so there has to be a happy medium.
That's great! I love how you separate the funds even though you have it in one account. I just might copy your idea, hehe.
Do you add money to a savings account? We add money every month. I have auto withdraw set up at every payday. If we have any "extra" money from recyclables, rebates, work bonus, etc I add that directly into account. Right now we do not have a car payment so we make a payment to ourselves right into savings every month.
How do you plan/budget to be able to add funds? I plan for the set amount taken out on paydays.
Do you find it is easy or difficult to save?
Having the auto withdraw really helps us because we don't really even notice that it is gone
