When you shop, do you check the expiration dates on your products?

I learned a big lesson this weekend!! I was moving around some of my stockpile and notice that almost half of my stash was expired!!! Not by much, a month or so but I won't be using 6 bottles of BBQ sauce and 6+ of salad dressing that quickly. I didn't pay much for them but still a big bummer.

It depends on what it is. Usually things like bbq sauce and dressings are still absolutely fine. Most are dated for use thinking you'll be opening them quite near purchase. I have some I've had for a really long time that we finally opened and there wasn't a thing wrong with them.

This recently happened to me with salad dressing! Depending on how far past, I will keep it or not. After learning my lesson, I make sure to check!

It depends on the item. I am very careful with baby food/formula but other stuff, if its a few months, no worries, but if its from like a year prior = yuck!
