Do you take vacations? Yes, we take mini vacations several times every summer. We took one big trip to Disney (Florida) when I was pregnant with our third as well.
How do you save money? We normally go to Prince Edward Island for our mini-vacations. My MIL has a lot there so it's basically free to stay there, and since she has a camper trailer, we can cook there so we don't need to eat out for every meal. It's a 4 hour trip so aside from what we do while we're there, it really only costs us gas and the $40 fee to come back across the bridge.
I really actually love Staycations.
But! This winter we are hopefully going up to Keystone to board. I rent all of my equipment because I just don't go up enough to justify new stuff. Boarding is far too expensive but I still like to do it once or twice a year. My SO can get free or discounted lift tickets which is always nice.
Yep, we take vacations a few times a year. We have a specific account that is just for vacations. We shop around for hotels and plane faire if we are flying. We also have the option of not spending our budgeted fun money and putting that towards trips.
Luckily my Mother-in-law is great for babysitting when my hubby and I want to get away. We take short weekend breaks and stay in guest houses. Because we go to the same guest houses, we tend to get a discount. Those 2 days away make a world of difference.
