If you had to give one frugal tip or piece of advice, what would it be?

Meal planning! This really worked for our family. We don't plan out specifically what meal we will each day a week ahead - But, we plan out seven days of meals. This has helped us to not overspend, and to make sure we know what to make instead of not knowing and then just grabbing some food outside the home.

Yes, a list! This is a must for me... Otherwise, I will pick up extra things.

Do not spend more than you can earn.

It is because no matter how high is your income, if you spend more than that, you will acquire debts in the end.

A year ago on this thread, my tip was meal planning. I still agree with this! It has saved us so much money! Also, freezing items! Freeze them before they go bad, or if you can get a really good deal on meat or certain produce, freeze! This has saved us a lot!

Buy used whenever possible. Clothes, toys, books, holiday decorations, sports equipments, cars; you name it, you can get a better deal buying it used.
