Necessity at first, now it's just become an attitude of "why spend more if I don't have to?!"

Yes

Same here. I was laid off unexpectedly right after we found out we were pregnant, and decided that I would stay home with our daughter. We had to adjust our budget and try to live very frugally.

Three years ago DH and I bought our house. We had to save money to do it. Then it hit me why should we pay full price for things if we don't have to. Now I hate paying full price for anything.

My sister and I like to say it's because we're Hispanic. If I don't have to pay full price, I won't. I like my money to stretch. Deal hunting is so wired into me that if I won the huge powerball lotto, I'd probably still be frugal when shopping.

I was raised that way. DH wasn't so it has been a bit of a hard path getting him to change his thoughts on money.

It was around 15 years ago in my case. Money was tight and it was a case of either be frugal and eat or not and starve. Seriously. I remeber being in a situation where sometimes it was a choice of buying groceries or paying the heating. What do you do? I always chose groceries but it was never an easy decision. My hubby and I have money these days, do pretty well, but being frugal just stuck.

Definitely necessity due to our current situation. It will be really hard to have limited budget for everything. There is always a need to find ways to earn more.
