I found this article interesting...

What other questions do you find yourself asking before making a purchase?

Should I Buy It?

The last one is a big one for me. "Will you regret it?" because I almost always regret impulse purchases.

Same here! I've been doing a lot better lately - It used to be pretty bad. It would be small impulse buys, but they add up!

THIS. I should probably keep the list in my purse or wallet. Or tape it onto my card.
I've gotten better at my spending. The trick I use when I'm shopping and I see something I want but don't really need, is that I grab it anyways and let it hang out in my cart. By the end of the shopping trip, I've pretty much had my fill of it being in 'my possession' and I can put it back and be fine.

A trick that I use when I'm in a clothing store: I see something kind of cute then look at the price. If it's over the price that I'm willing to spend and it's not that amazing (e.g. $24 for a top) I'll say to myself "that's $24 more than I want to spend" and walk away and forget about it. If it's something I really really like, I usually try to find something similar for cheaper and if I still really want the original expensive thing, I give myself a few days before going back to the store and buying it. That way I feel like I've thought through it, done my research and made a thoughtful decision that I really want it.
