DH has medical insurance through work which is great because it's only $13 a week. But since he switched to the family plan when Alisha was born it went up to $75 a week. The only good thing about it was that it includes an unlimited number of children and DH has two from a previous marriage. I'm not included on it because it would double the cost to $160 a week.

Well, since then, the baby got on Medicaid and his other two children weren't added yet due to it not being open enrollment yet. And now we found out we can drop the family coverage and resume his individual plan. We're getting individual child plans for the other two from BlueCross/BlueShield at a cost of just $117 a month total! We're getting the lowest deductible of $1500 and that only applies to hospitalization. Regular doctor visits( they can keep their current doctor) are just a $25 copay and specialist visits are a $45 copay.

So when all is said and done, we'll pay $130 a month for insurance instead of $300.

hooray!

Too bad we can't it that cheap. It's way expensive for us! The family plan is over 600 a month. yikes! Granted, that's for an unlimited number of dependents, but still...

I wish we only paid a couple hundred...

Glad someone is getting a good deal!
