Hey! I'm great, saving lots of money!!! How's your little princess doing? You are in my prayers! When is her surgery?

Thanks for the prayers--I firmly believe that prayer is what's carrying us through this.

Her surgery is on Wednesday! I'm starting to get extremely stressed out over it all...though I am trying to remain really hopeful. She just such a fighter--I keep telling myself that she just doesn't dare give up. She doesn't give up about anything!

I'm glad you're saving lots!!! We are going to fall into financial ruin from all this--I'm so serious. I have to rent a hotel for the first several days of the baby being in the hospital because she'll be in ICU and won't have her own room, so I can't stay at the hospital. I am trying to find something super close by so I can be there first thing in the morning and stay most of the day. My sister and my niece and my M&FIL are going to be here for the kids... and then they'll stay with my folks on the weekends and DH will come down to the hospital with me. They said to anticipate her being in the hospital at least two weeks, but probably longer...depending on her speed of recovery.

I'm [hopefully] taking my computer with me, but DH might not let me. We shall see about that. If I can't have my computer there, I'll likely have to step down as host. I've been debating it, since I don't have much time on here these days, but I'm really trying not to have to!

Do you know if there is a Ronald McDonald House close by the hospital??? There is one in Baltimore near our large university hospital. I am not sure, but I think that they let families with children in the hospital stay there for free. I really hope that you don't have to step down as host. I am pretty new here, but I have learned a lot from you already!!!! I am also keeping your little one in my prayers!!!

There is one about twenty minutes away, and it's only 10 dollars a night, BUT--I know it sounds selfish and lazy but... I don't want to have to do chores. I don't think I'll be around there very much, and I certainly don't think I'll have the energy for doing their housework. That's part of the deal is that you can stay there but you have to do set chores in exchange for the super low rate. At her party, there were lots of family members that gave us money for that reason--hotels, meals, etc... and our family (I have a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE family--we were trying to count cousins, and I have over a hundred cousins!) has made it clear that family is here for us, and that they'll start the phone tree at any needed time and take donations. I love my family.

That is not selfish or lazy!!! I did not realize that was part of the deal. Of course you are going to want to spend most of your time with the baby!!!! It is great that you have such a great family!! Count your blessings. I am not sure that my family would step up to the plate like that!!!!!
