Ever have one of those times where everything seems to go your way? When it rains, it pours; I'm just happy that it's a good kind of rain this time. I had calculated DH's usual weekly pay a few weeks ago, but I was too lazy to figure out the new tax rate since he made the switch from claiming one to claiming two. So I had figured that he'd make about $700 even for a 65 hour week. He had 64.5 hours this week, but he brought home $735! Yay! That's a rate of only 16%. And of course, I had just redone our budget this afternoon and had to wite-out the old numbers. But I was happy to do it. That's an extra $140 a month that I never counted on. Woohoo!
I make my DH claim single and 1 dependent....that way at the end of the year, we get a fat refund, and I actually get some $$! I don't get much (when any) through the year, so I like my once a year payday.
And next time, we'll hopefully have our new baby right before taxes--good timing to have to get a bunch of somewhat unexpected stuff!
