Do you go on one big trip each month or every two months? Or do you go weekly to stock up? I like the idea of going once a month and just picking up a few necessities here and there. Of course, that's mostly because we have to go out of town to go to a cheaper grocery store (Super Wal-mart, Krogers, Aldi's, etc.). What do you think the best way to save money is?

I'm pretty lucky to have lots of stores around (I don't do Wal Mart, just grocery stores).

I normally have about 50 dollars every two weeks, so if there's a really good sale, then I'll plan my trip and go spend it. If there aren't good sales, then I just grab some veggies and fruit and staples (if need be) and hold off.

I always have enough meat in the freezer for about a month (or two ) so that I don't *have* to shop all that often. I make bread and pasta, so that's no biggie either... I really just stay stocked up so that I can shop and stock ONLY when there's a great sale. (Like this week--split chicken breasts for only 1.00 a pound! )

I do weekly grocery shopping at Walmart. One of my staples is salad and I just can't keep enough veggies on hand and use them all up before they go bad unless I shop weekly. I don't worry too much about trying to keep my groceries to a bare minimum since I only budget $75 a week which includes baby supplies, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products. The Walmart shopping is not where I get my best deals since I only have so many coupons and they don't do specials like BOGO. I do stock up on items at regular grocery stores if it's cheaper or at least comparable to the amount I'd spend on gas going further to Walmart anyway. Then I also do CVS shopping where I get my best deals.

I don't know which way would be cheaper. I guess it just depends on what you're buying. If you can stock up on meats and non-perishables when they're on sale like Kim does then it'd probably be cheaper to shop less often. Or just leave it flexible and go by the deals week by week.

I shop bi-weekly most times, or further apart if the cash is tight. I have a pretty solid pantry stash so I can make it work for awhile if I have to put off going to the store. No more than every 2 weeks, though. I have to drive 30 minutes now for a real grocery store.

I shop weekly. I find I save the most money that way because I can shop by sales alone. But even if it weren't for that reason, I'd shop weekly because we love fresh fruits/veges and I always need to stock up on them.
