OK... so you know when you buy nestle toll house morsels that it tells you all this name brand stuff for your cookies? And as normal people read it they're like, 'yeah, right. Like I pay that much for stinkin' butter/flour/whatever.'

Well... I have some chocolate chips from Save a Lot. I always get them there. Way cheaper. I get lots of baking stuff there, apparently.

It calls for hilltop mills flour CHECK
Keeler salt CHECK
Coburn Farms butter CHECK
Diamond falls sugar CHECK
Diamond falls brown sugar CHECK
Marcum vanilla CHECK

The only thing that wasn't their brand was the baking soda and eggs.

Does that mean I'm *gasp* cheap? I so hate that word... I'm not cheap; I'm FRUGAL!

I have Toll House and Meijer chips (from baking sales in the winter). However, my sugar, brown sugar, and flour are all totally SAL brand. Mmmm, generics. I'm getting really stoked for the Thanksgiving to Xmas sales on food ... baking supplies, canned goods, big staples will all be WAY on sale. I can't wait.

I can't wait either because I didn't start couponing until January, so I missed all that fun last year!

Uh...more sales...I think I need a bigger house!!!

I also just started really using coupons/savings/shopping various stores in Jan so it will be interesting. I know Meijer tend to have their butter on sale for $1/pound but often they have limits...I'll just send hubby into a different line to buy more! I really want to stock up on that so I don't have to pay more throughout the year! Lately getting it for less than $2 has been a deal.

Almost all of my holiday gift giving involves baking goodies, which requires tons 'o baking supplies. Plus, I homebake 2 desserts or snacks a week. I cannot wait to get baking stuff on sale. Flours, sugars, oils, specialty items ... and coupons to boot. Joy joy joy.

Oooh, I WISH we had an Aldi closer. Our nearest is like a 1/2 hour away. But I'm planning a trip once preschool starts to stock up on a bunch of basics : flour, sugar, pasta, etc.
