So, I am officially crazy. Bat crap nutso. Certifiable.

It's Super Saturday at Meijer, as we all know. Included in that sale are 2 liters of Coke products for 88c. I only buy pop with empty can deposit money, and I have not taken the empties in since we moved here. So, this morning we loaded up the Jeep with the millions (estimated ...) of empties and off I went.

I went to three Meijer stores. They're all in the same town, luckily. It's kind of a long story as to why. There was purportedly a limit of 4 2liters per purchase. So, I did two transactions of 4 each time (2 at the first Meijer, 2 at the 2nd Meijer) until my last cart full of empties at the 2nd Meijer when the cashier accidentally informed me that the register didn't recognize the limit so I could indeed buy as many as I wanted. Sweet. I made three trips into the 3rd Meijer (two for soda, one for groceries). I don't do real well pushing a hugely full cart of soda, and I didn't want to draw *too* much attention to myself lest some lowly employee think it time to "enforce" the limit, hence the multiple trips. I had $86 in empties! I have 74 2 liters in the Jeep waiting to come in the house once I get the gumption to move ever again. Score!

And, while I was there ... I of course had to do some Kellogg's dealing.

1st transaction:
6 Eggo waffles
4 Pop Tarts

Total: $11.34
- $2 coupons
= $9.34 OOP
+ $10 rebate
= Mandi gets paid 66c AND a free backpack. Hooray!

2nd transaction:
2 Rice Krispie Treats
2 Pop Tarts
2 Cheez Its
2 Pecan Sandies
2 Fudge Strip Cookies

Total: $18.00
- $6.55 coupons
= $11.45 OOP
+ $10 rebate
= $1.45 AND a free backpack. Hooray again!

I also got ...
2 bags Meijer cheese
2 Old El Paso taco seasoning (1c/each after coupon with the sale ... muahaha)
3 Kraft Puddings
3 12 pack Nabisco cookie/cracker lunch packs
4 8 packs of Capril Sun
1 package of Chips Ahoy cookies (FREE!)
and a bottle of Hoisin Sauce (for lo mein, my favorite) on clearance

Total: $22.22
- $1.05 coupons
= $21.17

Total OOP for the day ... $41.96
Total after rebates ... $21.96

Total Saved ... $80.67

Soon, my dear, soon indeed. It's really one part skill and about 10 parts luck most of the time.

I love it!! Where are you going to put 74 2 liters? I found out a little too late that my Meijers does indeed have the Super Saturday sale. Oh well, I know for next time. They don't advertise it here like they do in Michigan, I wonder why.

As I told CBMS...the house across the street is for sale...you could probably buy it outright after the sale of your house!!!

I would like to say we're moving, but the problem is that the market in Florida currently sucks booty. For the first time in three (or more) decades, there are more people leaving than coming, so the houses aren't selling. We couldn't sell our house even if we undersold by thousands, I bet... Our insurance payment is almost as much as our mortgage part of the loan... it freaking sucks...

The Super Saturday ad is usually available on Thursdays on the Meijer website if there's going to be one. Perhaps that will help, April, if you can't get the ad in hand.

As for 74 2 liters ... first, I have to get them out of the Jeep. I do not know that this will actually happen today. I'm sore and blase today, and it's raining, so I'm far less likely to get out the wagon and drag it up and down the hill to the basement full of pop I hauled twice yesterday. Once I get it put away, I'll show you. I have a downstairs pantry strictly for stockpiling, so I *should* have enough room.
