Alisha had her 12 month well baby check up on Wed. And she is still at 18 lbs. The same as at her 9 month check up. She sure feels like she's gained weight but I guess not. She's such a little peanut.

Kim, how much does Maddie weigh now? Is the Boost helping her gain weight steadily?

She's actually doing pretty good. She was up to 19 pounds at her 15 month, and now she's about 21! She has been eating cheese like there's no tomorrow, though... and drinking her boost. I think the boost really helps a lot. She's still small, but she's not below the 5th percentile anymore!

*that means she can still wear a 12 month right?? I got her the cutest little outfit, but I forgot to send it. I need to get it out to you already... I suck like that.

Awww..... that's so sweet! You didn't have to get her anything. But yes, she hasn't even grown into most of her 12 month clothes yet. Some of the dresses must be cut smaller because they're tight. But she practically swims in her onesies. I'll get alot of use out of them at least.

Hahaha...a cheese lover. That's my kind of girl.

Do you know who else likes cheese? The answer is somewhere in my post.... in all my posts actually...

Yeah... cheese lover. The .99 cheese sticks I got at Publix is going QUICK! She ate two yesterday, and she's had three today! lol She comes up to me, "I cheese!" and runs to the freezer.... she definitely knows what she wants.

Miss Alisha is a cheese lover too? What about yogurt? Maddie loves yogurt. I get her the fattiest one I can find. The Publix creamy kind is really good and it's higher in fat. She loves it.

My other girls were little chunkers, too..but their dad's bigger... my husband (Maddie's dad), is only 5'6'' and I'm only 5'3'' so we didn't really expect her to be very big.

The cheese question was a bit of Buffy trivia.

Alisha has only had the cheese from mac & cheese. But she does like the Yoplait kids yogurt.

AcidxxStorm: Wow! That IS a big baby. But I'll bet she's really cute with little dimpled arms and legs. There's nothing wrong with being full-figured, even if you are just 9 months old.

She definitely needs to eat more cheese. The pediatrician cleared us for cheese at about 10 months.... said it is broken down easier than milk and we could start. Maddie loves it.

yeah... but tiny babies are cute. No one thinks they're so old because they're tiny. When Maddie talks, she knocks peoples' socks off...

Carly might be at 17 pounds now. I'm dreading her doctors app. The doctor looks at me as if I'm not feeding her. She turned one on the 10th and is still wearing 6-9 months clothes.

Anastasia is only 15 lbs 15 oz at nearly 13 months. I get flack all the time. WIC, Doctors, friends, and online people.... they all are "worried" about her.

You girls have some tiny babies!!!

Our son was 23 pounds at his 1 year visit.

How much did your girls weigh when they were born?

I'm pretty sure Maddie's heart condition will play a role in her size. My cousin has a heart issue (born in Germany while his parents were stationed there, emergency flight to US, lots of doctors visits, blue lips until he had surgery when he was a few months old). He's 20 now and although he's "normal" for height (about 5 10 or so) he probably only weighs about 125!

Carly was 6 lbs 15 oz at birth. She is off the growth chart right now. Issac, on the other hand, was a huge baby.

Maddie was 6.14 at birth. Yes, her heart condition does play a role. Cardiac babies are usually pretty small... I don't anticipate our next baby to be very big, either though. We are both somewhat small people... I don't see us making a giant baby.

A friend of mine had a baby in April. He's already up to 19lbs!!

And, there's nothing wrong with being a 'full figured' (as Teri put it) baby ... OR adult ... but I might be slightly biased.

My first was HUGE!!! 24 pounds by 6 months. But my baby has been pretty small, and we have been trying to get him to gain weight. He's not that tiny, but he doesn't eat and has actually lost a little weight over the last couple of months. I didn't know you could give babies boost. We have been giving him pediasure, at our doc's recommendation, but Boost is so much cheaper, and always on sale. How much do you give her, Kim?

I only give her one bottle a day. I generally like the boost plus (even higher in calories/fat), but I got all this regular boost dirt cheap so I'm running with that for now. I also give her lots of cheese and yogurt (full fat). She's lactose, so the boost is the milk I use. I could get lactaid, but she likes the boost so well... I have lactaid now that she won't drink. She chugs the boost.

* just to clarify... she doesn't drink out of a bottle. It's out of a sippy. I give her one bottle of boost--it's an 8 oz. bottle and it goes into her cuppie twice. I put it over ice.

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll have to try it. I don't know why, but for some reason I thought there was caffeine or something in Boost.
