Please! Get the envelope metered if you have are sending a train containing more than 50 coupons. Another person has gotten a train and had to pay additional postage for it. If in doubt of the weight and you cannot get to the post office, go by the 50 coupons/1 stamp rule. It's not fair for someone to have to pay both the postage to and from them. Thanks!

Good tip! I hope it wasn't one of mine, I always put 2 stamps if it's more than 50 or if it seems close.

It was dzine21 from group #3, I believe. She posted about it in one of the train threads.

I hope it wasn't one that I sent. I was so worried that their wouldn't be enough postage that I used 2 .41 stamps.

Maybe someone should stick an extra stamp in with the coupon train as well. And (on the honor system) the person would only take that stamp if they had to pay for the train, you know?

Since when does the post office send the letter if it doesn't have correct postage? I have had stuff sent back to me because of postage

Not complaining here, just curious.

Really, I've never had that, it usually just comes with postage due...they leave a postcard type thing in your mailbox with info about the item and how much postage is due. If you want it you have to go and pay to pick it up.

Wow! Thats never happened to me before. Normally it just gets sent back and I pay more on it. Now I feel terrible. I sent some envelopes off to Cinfy and I hope she doesn't end up paying for them!

Oh wow. Well it was only once. And it may be because at the time I lived in a very small town. If I didn't have any stamps on me I could just leave the letter and the money in the mailbox.

When I set up the original train, I never thought that it would be a problem either. Why wouldn't the post office just return it to sender due to insufficient postage? But nope! They give the recipient the option to either pay the additional postage or not get it. Makes alot of sense.

And here's an even weirder one for ya. My friend sent me a money order and forgot to put the stamp on it. It still came and had the wavy postmark lines over where the stamp should've been. No talk of postage due or anything. Thank you, USPS!

Glue or tape, whichever sticks it the best.

Who cares...they have no proof it was already used...if questioned about it you could always claim you messed up writing out the address and so to avoid confusion you just took off the stamp and used a new envelope!
