Another board I'm on asked what was for supper, and here was my response:

Hee hee. I'm used to posting this kind of stuff on the frugal mommies board, so I'll give my prices, too (Michelle should get a kick out of this!).

Chicken Helper Fried Rice (on sale and coupons -- 30c)
Chicken to go in the rice (less than a lb, on sale super cheap -- $1)
Bag of Asian Medley Birds Eye Steamfresh veggies (50c with coupon and sale)
Total for supper for all three of us = less than $2!

See Libby...you can be convenient and thrifty![/b]

And it was oh-so-yummy, too!!!

Sounds yum. I love fried rice.

We had a cheap supper too...

1 lb. ground turkey--browned, rinsed, and drained (.99)
1 c. frozen green beans (.45)
1 c. frozen corn (.45)
1 c. potatoes (don't know how cheap it is for two potatoes out of a 2.00 bag of 10#... .20?)
1 can beans (.39)
1/2 c. bbq sauce (I got the sauce for free...)
1 c. water (free)

slopped together and simmered. One dish. 2.48-ish for the five of us... not too shabby, I guess.

We had meatloaf. So 1.49 for the meat. Bread crumbs, one egg, milk, onion, seasonings=probably 50 cents or less. Mashed potatoes, probably another 50 cents maybe. So 2.50 or so...and there is enough meatloaf for another meal.

We had dinner at my parnets, it was spaghetti. My older son says grandma makes the best spaghetti ever. So we ate for free, and Jordan ate 2 plates worth. He needs to gain weight so it was a win win situation for all of us.

We're having spaghetti tomorrow ... unless I convince myself to eat some tonight instead ... lol.

We had spaghetti on Saturday night and then I grilled some chicken on Monday, heated up the leftover spaghetti with a little extra sauce, then served spaghetti with chicken, sauce, and mozzerella on top. Super yummy and better than just straight leftovers.

I love spaghetti!
