I've been watching to see if other people use coupons. We went to Harris Teeter three times over the course of the triple coupon days. I only saw 4 single people and a couple using coupons. The couple seemed completely confused by their coupons. The other four people were all men! Two old men and two young men (none of them together). Tonight I went to Safeway and was getting some better than free Stackers and a little old lady looked at my coupon binder and complimented me on it and said that was such a great idea and she should do that, too. She was there to get exactly 20 items to get $20 off.

That reminds me. I was at Kroger (big surprise, huh?) and a saw a man with a check binder full of coupons. He was in the checkout line with the coupons that he was going to use in hand. I see quite a few men using coupons, but it is usually only one or two coupons at a time. The guy that had the coupon binder just blew me away I thought about complimenting him, but I didn't want him to think I crazy

I can't believe I forgot to mention this...I was at Babies R Us over the weekend and got in line behind a guy with a ton of stuff...to the total of $900+. Then he busted out a coupon organizer and started pulling a ton of them out! Then they asked him to open a charge to save 10%-which he did...I don't know what his final total came to (I ended up getting rang up by customer service). I felt so weird bc I was so happy to see him using coupons!
Thats awesome! I have yet to see anyone using coupons... but one of the gals in my playgroup is a hardcore couponer like me!

my FIL (who is nigh on 80) and I clip coupons for each other. I know what he uses, and he knows what I use...
he does all the shopping for him and his wife; has for years...
must be a generational thing? [/b]
Or maybe by then the women get tired of doing it and let the men do it!
I think for them it has to do with a fixed income, and he's the one that does the finances... I don't know that for sure, though... I'm guessing.
(though I hear-tell that he has done the cooking and shopping for many many years...)
It is funny how some men do change in their old change...my grandpa (74) has gotten really good at helping my cousins get ready for school, organizing their crazy school and activities schedules, helping around the house, and even helping my grandma make the Christmas cookies! It's just so funny to see! My grandma was home for many years, raising 5 bio child and 1 adopted, and dozens of foster kids! She started "working" in her 50s and just retired last year at 73!!!
