Is it worth clipping coupons like $.25 off Folgers coffee? Coffee is like $6. Will a quarter off make a difference? We don't have any stores that do double or triple coupon days.

a quarter is still a quarter less out of pocket. It adds up. I mean if you saved a quarter every week in a year you would have saved 13$. Which is enough to buy a book, or toy or something. It adds up

I agree. Every little bit helps. That's actually why most people don't use coupons--they think the savings are too little. But if they found a quarter on the ground, they'd pick it up. It's the same thing.

*ETA: Since I came back to edit for spacing, I'll add this: I pick up pennies!

A couple weeks ago, DH and I found $5 in a Walmart bag in the middle of the highway. He can spot money from a mile away!

Shoot... as much as I go through coffee, that's .50 a week, and that's 26.00 a year JUST on the coffee... and if I have .25 coupons for [nearly] EVERYTING I buy (which I do), think what that's multiplied by!!

PS. I bend over to pick up a nickel.

If I usually use the brand I clip it no matter what the savings are.....every little bit helps.....my rule of thumb with coupons is if I don't have a favorite brand of something I clip all the coupons for that category and try to catch it close to free or the best price with sales. It all adds up in the end

Thats what I do too. I keep all the coupons and then get the cheaper item (like with popcorn and stuff).

Well... I've been known to pick up pennies, too. I just wasn't going to admit it for less than silver money.

LOL about your husband spotting money from so far away! Kaity found a forgotten 20 in an ATM once... Lucky brat.

I usually buy all my tomato products (diced, sauce, etc.) at Save a Lot, BUT I will clip all the coupons for that stuff because when it goes on sale BOGO it's fairly comparable to buy it with the coupons. I am brand loyal to a few things, too, so those coupons ALWAYS get clipped--regardless of their value.

I wondered that too when I first started, but I figured.... saving is saving especially if I'm going to buy the item anyway!

I now clip all the coupons out from 2 inserts each week. I keep the rest of the inserts in an expandable folder labeled by date so that if I see a good deal, I can find the particular coupons that go with the deal and clip all the extras that I need.

The way I see it, is that a lot of the time, you can get something free or even get paid to buy it when you combine it with sales & rebates. So even if it's something I normally wouldn't buy, I'll get it to donate or give to a friend that I know will use it. So that's why I clip all the coupons and carry them with me everywhere.

I don't have stores that double, either.

You should start keeping the depends coupons. They are the BEST for postpartum bleeding!
