Target has a deal buy 6 12-packs of Pepsi, get a $5 gift card. The 12 packs are on sale this week 3 for $9. That comes out to 25 cents a can.

DH likes Diet Pepsi best and we are always buying it. I don't drink any pop at all. I was thinking of going every day to Target and getting the 6 12-packs. We'd have a lot of pop, but we would use it all and we wouldn't have to buy pop at all for the rest of the year. And we'd have $35 worth of gift cards at the end of the week.

Sound crazy?

I agree, get it...just make sure you don't drink more just bc you have it...

I once bought 8 24 packs (4 of Pepsi products, 4 of Coke products) bc they had mail in rebates going at the same time...that was a lot of pop, especailly since we like drink very little, but for free-sure!!

If you use the gift card on the 2nd group, then the 2nd gift card on the 3rd, etc, you would have less OOP.

We are huge Pepsi fans. I bought 10 12-packs today and 2 6-pack bottles. I was planning on using the first gc for the second order but DH had them in his cart and he hoped over to another line. I am planning on going back to get more. I hope that I will be able to use 2 gc on one transaction.

This is the lowest price that I've seen on Pepsi's in a long time.

I say go for it. While the price itself isn't that great, the GC with purchase certainly makes it worthwhile. Since you use it anyway, stock up while you can!

I'm iffy on if I want to do this deal or not. We already have 15 12pks of Pepsi Products since I was using them as filler at cvs/walgreens in the last few weeks and getting them either free or very close to it. I just cashed in a raincheck at walgreens today to get 5/$11 which is pretty much the same price (I paid $2.20 a 12pk, the price at target if you factor the gc in is $2.17). My only hesitation on the target deal is laying the initial $18 out to get the first gc to start rolling, then you'd be laying $13 out every time after.

I just see them go 4/$10 or 5/$11 quite a bit so I don't know if I really want to buy a bunch more right now when we already have so many.

I don't know about Walmart but Kroger was $4.99 for a 24 pack. After the gc targets price is $4.34

Hmmm...that's $2.16 after the GC. I won't pay that much for a 12-pack, personally. I usually spend closer to $1.24-$1.50 for a name-brand 12-pack.

Don't stockpile your GC's though. Use them to buy the next day's worth of pepsi, then end up with just the one at the end of the week.

Not everyone is as lucky as you. I almost *never* get soda for less than 2.00/12 pack, and it's RARELY that cheap. Occasionally you can find a 1.99 deal, but that's as good as it gets, once a year or something. It's usually right about 2.50-3.50!

If you did the deal today, 3/9, and got your 5.00 GC, your OOP is roughly 9.70 on your first trip, and you get back the 5.00. That means your OOP on the second [and subsequent] trip is roughly 4.70. So for six days, you could end up with 18 12-packs for a total OOP of about 33.20, and you still have a 5.00 GC for another time. That puts them at 1.84 each (with tax), by my calculations.. am I right or wrong?

I'd say it's a good deal... go for it.

I can sometimes get RC products for $1.50 only because coupons will run for them. I can never find Pepsi for under $2

You only get the gc when you buy 6 though. So you have to lay out $18 plus tax. Still a fair deal though!

Oh, poop. I'm skimming again.

So it's 19.40 first trip, and 14.40 on subsequent... end up with 36, and an OOP of 91.40, and a 5.00 GC. So they're 2.53 with tax... still a fair deal, yes. Not quite as sweet, though...

We *never* get coupons for 12 packs here. I only get coupons for the 20 oz. ones and sometimes--once in a blue moon--the 2 liters.

Bakers has Dr. Pepper on sale for 2.50 if you buy 4. I have 1$ off 2 so it would equal out to 2.00/12 pack which is fairly cheap for Dr. Pepper.

The only coupons for cans I get is for Big Red and it is rare to get those.
