This was suggested before and I never got around to it. But now is the time. Please post any abbrev. we use and their meanings. Then I'll turn it into a list and sticky it for all the newbies to our board.

Isn't it awful that I don't even know what CRT means?

Sometimes we say "manu" for a manufacturer coupon just because it's a lot easier to type!

Seriously--I think it's cash register tape, or cash register ticket, one...

I wasn't kidding.

The catalina is a separate machine, but the CRT is on the ticket/receipt.... I'm pretty sure that's it...

What the heck does YMMV mean? I know we don't use it on this board much but I see it on HCW all the time and it drives me nuts trying to figure it out!

It stands for "Your Mileage May Vary" meaning that your prices may differ a bit depending upon what area of the country you live in. I didn't know until just a few weeks ago.

I've also seen it used as "Your manager may vary" meaning certain managers are stricter about coupons than others. Some will let you use a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale, some won't. Some will let you use 2 $ coupons on a BOGO sale, some will only let you use 1. Some CVS/Walgreens managers will give you cash if ECBs/RR don't print, some will give you a GC and some will make you call corporate.

I'll post a permanent list of them somewhere soon.

Yep, CVS is the greatest! Even though most things are more expensive there than in a place like Walmart, the trick is to get into the EB's loop to reduce your OOP. And to use the sales and coupons to get the stuff for free or nearly free. Sometimes you can even MAKE money by shopping there. That beats Walmart prices anyday.
