Ok...It's time I put all these frugal lessons into high gear. We haven't had money to TRULY buy groceries for like 2 1/2 months..... just little things here and there as we really needed them.

Well, I got a paycheck yesterday (and I don't even technically have a job ) for $300.... and I'm going to use it on Groceries/Health & Beauty items/Pets/etc.

I need to make $300 last all month for my family of 7 + 2 cats in all of those areas MOST of it has to go towards groceries. I've scouted out the sale ads for my 2 grocery stores (Hy-Vee and Cubs) to see where I can get the best bang for my bucks. I'm hitting Target and Walgreens for HBA/Pets etc for their sales too.

I'm so stressed that I'm not going to make it under $300!

You can absolutely do it! Some women here feed their family on much less (even if you doubled the size of their family it would still be much less).

You can do it with 300! Did you see all the crap I got last month for 300 bucks? I can't shop like that all the time or I'd need a warehouse.

You can do it. I believe in you. We have been teaching you, and you've learned your lesson well.

Just remember: don't buy things you don't need just because you have a coupon! (unless of course, you get an overage!!) And stick to necessities since you're trying to feed your family for the entire month. If you want goodies, they can be made with the necessities you've purchased (cookies=egg, sugar, oil, flour, oatmeal and a couple other miniscule things--those are things you would probably want on hand anyway!)

PS. A couple necessities are on great sale at Walgreens! The Domino sugar is only 1.99 (cheaper than SAL!!) and there are currently .25 coupons for it!! Same story for Folger's coffee--1.99 and currently a .25 coupon. Great prices on both.

And if you're a canned pasta eater, the chefboyardee is always .99 at Target, and there are coupons you can print on their site for 1.00/3, which is kind of like buy two get one free...

You can totally do it on $300. Don't worry about the 'deals' or stockpiling ... just focus on what you *have* to have to eat. Plan out a month's worth of meals ... protein, grain, veggie if possible. Use what you have in the pantry first. Add to it from your $300. I've fed these five crazy people at my house on less then $150 when things were tight. You can totally do it!

You can do it you can do it!

Just watch your sales check your coupons.....make sure when you do buy something that it scans the correct price....because a lot of times if it doesn't the store will give it to you for free. AND if you have a Dollar Tree....go shop there...I bought tons of frozen food for 20.00.

Good Luck!
