I went to Kroger today to grab a few things. I get almost through the store and freak because I can't find my envie with my coupons! It wasn't my whole organizer, but it did have 3 $3 Goodlife Qs and 2 B2G1 Minute Maid Qs. I back tracked and didn't find it, so I retraced my steps again and still couldn't find it. I was super upset. Then I happened to look in the cart with Luke for the 100th time, and there it was tucked behind him! I swear the little stinker must have hidden it because there is no way I put it behind him! I was so relieved and went and checked out. We get out to the car and I thought, CRAP! I forgot the generic Halloween oreos they had on sale, and that's what I'm taking to Dane's party at the library. So we went back in and I got three of those. Well, I'll be darned if we don't get in the car and then it dawns on me that I forgot to get soft drinks! DOH! I wasn't going back in there again, but we were on the other end of town and would be driving past my regular Kroger on the way home, so we stopped there to get the cokes. DH called right as we were getting out of the car to go in and told me to buy him some ice cream. I was ticked because I'm trying not to spend much this month! I went to the ice cream first to look and they had Edy's on sale 3/$10. They had Girl Scouts Thin Mint, which I knew DH would love, Butterfinger, which we would both love, and PUMPKIN, which I have been dying to try since I love anything pumpkin. I bought all three of them. I can't believe I spent ten bucks on ice cream tonight! I think that's the biggest I've splurged at the grocery since I really started being frugal back in July! (Oh, I tried the pumpkin tonight and it was so worth it!)
So I made three trips into Kroger today in less than an hour, and still forgot to get Luke's formula! What is wrong with me!!!

Anyway...
I spent: $35.75 (I had said I wanted to spend between $20 and $30, but this isn't too bad considering I splurged with the $10 ice cream!)
I saved: $31.08 (Not to shabby considering that about $11 of what I spent was on cokes and deli meat that wasn't on sale.)

Good price on Edy's! You can keep the pumpkin though. blech. I'll take my peanut butter cup or something similar. Not sure what Edy's brand of it is, but everybody makes a peanut butter cup-type ice cream.

Good job!!! As for being forgetful...have you been drinking the frugal mommy water? I've been trying to get April to drink it, .

Just kidding, I always seem to forget something too!

First of all, ice cream is the exception to being frugal because ice cream is a must. And it has to be a good brand.

Ditto to Kim on the peanut butter cup flavors though. Eating some right now as a matter of fact!

Ice cream is my splurge too! We usually get it from the Schwans man-$8-9/gallon, but SO WORTH IT! I did buy some Deans the other day-2 half gallons for $4.49 since we missed the Schwans man while gone and it'll be 2 weeks until he coems again! I can't go 2 weeks without ice cream!!

I used to buy ice cream all the time...but I guess having the sore tooth discourages it. I only buy it now if my husband asks me to pick some up...

I don't think I have! But I was posting somewhere else the other day that I felt like I'm pregnant! Couldn't be though...and poor DH would have a stroke!
