so far, so good... Let's see if I stick to it. I didn't feel much like chicken today, but I still made it. And it was good. I planned it for three weeks for now. I think it'll help me keep focused on not buying anything else. (wishful thinking? perhaps...)

Wednesday always used to be spaghetti night, and then I strayed from that, but I am back to it now. I printed the menu and put it on the fridge, and the kids were so happy with knowing 'what's for dinner.' Now they can just look instead of asking and getting the normal, "food." LOL

here's our menu (course, the first three days are done already)

October 7-13 Supper menu
Sunday: Dijon split chicken breasts, white rice, green beans

Monday: Cheesy pizza mac, corn & green beans

Tuesday: Whole chicken, flavored rice side, corn, biscuits

Wednesday: Spaghetti and meatballs, texas toast, corn

Thursday: Oven roast, baked potatoes, green beans, skillet bread

Friday: Sausage, beans, &tomatoes with rice, green beans

Saturday: Chicken sandwiches on buns, mac n cheese, corn

October 14-20 Supper menu
Sunday: Taco soup

Monday: Chicken helper (use split breast—fillet it), green beans, spinach, skillet bread

Tuesday: Garlic split breasts, chicken flavored rice, corn

Wednesday: Spaghetti, texas toast, corn

Thursday: Chicken wings, white rice, corn cobs and spinach

Friday: pot roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits and green beans

Saturday: hoagies and crackers

October 21-27 Supper menu
Sunday: Dijon chicken breasts, green beans, rice, crescent rolls

Monday: Tacos (made with crumbles and homemade tortillas) beans, Spanish rice

Tuesday: Whole crock pot chicken, potatoes, corn, skillet bread

Wednesday: Spaghetti, veggie meatballs, texas toast, corn

Thursday: Swedish meatballs, white rice, green beans

Friday: Oven roast, mixed veggies (GG bag w/potatoes), skillet bread

Saturday: Sloppy joes, mac n cheese or chips

wow.. that's impressive planning.

It blows my mind that you're able to serve high quality meals while spending such a small amount on groceries! It's not all frozen pizzas and hotdogs! Your family is lucky! I hope you tell them that!

Hotdogs here are rare. When I get them, it's the expensive ones--Hebrew National. Too expensive. I'm too <strike>cheap</strike> er... frugal to have those hotdogs all the time! And I do pizza from scratch for a fraction of the cost of take out, and a hundred times better than those icky 1.00 pizzas.

I stock up on cheap chicken, get my sides all BOGO, and that makes for cheap meals. woot.

I have no problem with hotdogs and pizza on occasion - and homemade pizza is sooooo yummy!

My husband and I have been trying to eat healthy for a while - a lean meat, a whole grain side and a veggie or salad. I can't figure out where I'm spending my money. I got TONS of sides for free and I buy my meat pretty cheap (although we do have some kind of meat 6 days a week). I think it's on fresh produce and cottage cheese and yogurt. We go through TONS of that! I think I spend about $20 a week just on those 2 things.

Anyway, I'm jealous you know what you'll be eating for the next 3 weeks!

Don't be! I'm sure that half of that stuff, I won't feel like eating on the day that particular thing comes up on the schedule... but I'm making myself do it. Then at the end of the month, I'm going to do another inventory, and I'll decide if I am going to buy anything in November or declare it another 'necessities only' month...

I bow down to the the queen!!!
I really can't wait till our shopping excursion because if I could learn to shop like you then I definitely can afford to be a SAHM...right now it looks like I either need to go back to work or babysit some kids.

I prefer to have a menu, but I'm horribly distractable when it comes to following it. Great job on the planning, though. Menus make life easier.

How much are Hebrew National where you are? Here they are 2.50 (in the commissary) and I can use a 1/ coupon making them cheaper than Ball Parks and the other crappy hot dogs.

They vary from 3.79 to 4.59, and I rarely get good coupons worth buying them! I can get a whole chicken on sale for less than that...

Kim, I know I have Hebrew Nat'l coupons. I'll dig them up and send them with the dog food ones. (It will probably be the first of next week before I send them.)
