I had to go to the laundry mat tonight. The rat-infested craphole that is the laundry mat. And guess what? One of the dryers got grease all over many of Alisha's new clothes! I was freakin' livid. I first noticed a substantial amount of it on a pink shirt she's worn just once. And the owner's wife who doesn't speak much English was there instead of her husband. I showed her the shirt and she looked shocked and then walked away! So I continued to inspect the clothes and came up with about six articles of clothing (mostly brand new) with grease everywhere! So I gathered them up and went up to her and demanded, "What are you gonna do about these?" She said nothing and I went into a tirade about how filthy the place is ( it IS!) and how crappy their equipment is. I honestly don't remember all I said but it wasn't nice. I can only hope she understood most of it. I am so never ever going back there again. I'll go back to the one we used to go to that was super busy but at least doesn't ruin all your clothes.

So I'll try to get it out with something. What has a chance of getting out grease? Anything?! If it doesn't come out, I'm taking them back to that place when the husband is there and telling him where he can stick them.

Aww hun, that stinks. I would definately not be going back there..heck I'm suprised you went back after the rat!

I've heard Dawn dish detergent can take out grease stains and I think someone who's husband worked on cars a lot once told me that she rubs cheap shampoo on the spot and it takes it out.

so sorry, Teri. I used to use dishsoap for grease stains, too... but I'd use a toothbrush and dawn and scrub at it...

good luck!

I'd be angry too. I think that if you can't get the stains out they should reimburse you for the clothing. I hope you get it taken care of.

How crappy! I hope you can get the stains out with Dawn or something. If not, you should totally try to get them to reimburse you for the clothing. I dunno if you can get them to do it or not (they may have signs saying they are not responsable for damage) but it's worth a shot.

OMG how horrible. I hope that the stains come out. If not, I think that the laudromat should be responsible for replacing the clothing.

That really sucks. I would definitely go back to yell at the husband...even if the stains don't come out. Good luck though on getting them out.

I would be livid! I would definitely go back and tell the owner that he needs to replace the articles of clothing. That is so gross and something you shouldn't have to deal with. I am so sorry you had such a crummy day.

Have you had any luck getting the stains out?

Unfortunately the laundromat probaby has limited liability, depending on whether or not they have some kind of sign posted.

I'm going to try to get the stains out tonight. I have to wait until DH is around to corral Alisha.
