of your holiday decorations. I put up the tree yesterday, but it is not decorated yet. I need to give it a day or two to "drop" before decorating.

I have yet to put anything out. I'm undecided if I will this year or not. If I put the tree out in the living room I'm thinking the cats will try to climb in it and knock it down.

Any suggestions to keep cats out of Christmas Trees?

oddly enough, Sarah, my cat hasn't been super interested in the tree. She's gone and drank the tree water a few times, but thats about it. Odd... and it's a real Pine too.

We haven't done any decorating yet. DH was out of town for the last week, and I didn't feel like doing it myself. I think we are going to put the tree up tonight, but I don't think we are going to do any outside lights this year. I dunno though.

I would take pictures of some of the other decorations, but my camera really dislikes me at the moment, and feels the need to charge first. I'll add some more later.

The decorative baby under the tree:

The tree!:

I shared this with my PR a while ago, but its Caiden going up to the Tree, and he says "Pretty!" to it. He really loves the tree, and doesn't touch anything on it or the gifts. He just points and says pretty! =-)

Aww, Lindsey that's adorable!

I don't know if my kitties will remember my tree from last year and have a been there done that attitude or if it will be new to them again.

We put it in our room last year and it got knocked over 3 times and they are hardly ever in there! Once they both snuck in and tried to climb it and twice we forgot and left the door open and it was knocked over in their chasing sessions where they run like little wild beasts through the house. The little dog was also participating in one of those chasing sessions. I've heard it you spray it with something orange scented they don't like it but I'm not sure if that would deter mine or not.

I'd really like to put it up in the living room, I just don't trust them, lol.

grrr... JM ate my first post...

Here's our tiny tree... we used this last year because we worried about Maddie pulling the tree over and breaking bulbs, etc... decided the effort was only worth this much this year... prelit tabletop. Easy. Cheesy, maybe... but certainly easy. This is the extent of our Christmas (except for one more for each child that will go out Christmas eve)

presents... there's two on the left that are hidden, too...

and behind the table view of the presents...

oops... forgot the mantle:

and my baby yesterday in her Christmas dress...

and she fell asleep on the way to church...

She's my prettiest decoration around here.

First, our delapidated artificial tree ... it's 23 or so years old and my mother is emotionally attached to it despite it's slight lean and general shadiness ... lol.

You'll notice there are no presents under our tree. Where I come from, Santa brings presents and they don't show up until sometime after sleepy time on Xmas Eve. Yes, even still.

Here are the dining room shelves ...

This is the light over the dining room table ... it's wrapped with holly tinsel and such. And yes, that's really a pink poinsetta in a flamingo pot underneath.

This is the garland over the picture windows. There are three of them in the living room, plus the boys decorated the entertainment center in the same garland and lights.

This is the current wreath on our front door. DH and I made it together.

And, the Hanukkah decor ...

All of the pictures look great. Maddie has such long hair now too. I tell myself that if I had a girl instead of Evan (who I adore), she would have long hair like that. So pretty!

exactly Kim, I think its important for them to understand that Mama and Daddy give them gifts as well, it helps on the years when Mama and Daddy are broke. And my boys get one Big thing from santa, and then a couple small things that go with it from santa. the rest are from us.

Now imagine how sly I had to be with Ty this year to get him to ask santa for what I had already bought for him
