When I go downtown I usually just drive my car and pay the big parking fees for downtown Seattle as well as the gas, the pain of driving in lottsa traffic and then sometimes I pay to ride the monorail as well, from Seattle Center to downtown. Well, I got some bus tickets with a coupon book, so I decided to try riding the bus with these free tickets. Because my DH works at Microsoft, we get in cheap (used to be free) to some of the attractions. So, I am going to get Matthew out of his two morning classes at the school on Thursday, and take my car to a park-n-ride. Get the boys on the bus with me and go to see the Christmas train set up in Seattle Center, see all of the downtown decorated, go to the aquarium, go to the pacific science center with the butterfly house, see "Whales" at the Imax, and just walk around. Usually, I pay about 10.00 for parking, plus gas, plus whatever else. If we do all of those things and use my free bus tickets and our low price admissions, everything will only cost us 12.00 total for Matthew, myself and Evan. Yay! If this bus experience goes well, that will be great. The bonus is that I don't have to try to "hurry" our day to avoid driving in traffic. Also, during those hours, the bus service specifically IN downtown Seattle area is free, so once we are down there, we can use the bus to go to Chinatown or the University District. I just might turn into a regular bus user, at that rate. There are LOTS of FREE fun shows and activities that happen in the Seattle Center Pavillion.
