Any more news on the baby front? Were you supposed to get more results today?

I was going to go get more bloodwork, but didn't have anyone to watch the rugrats. They'll both be in preschool tomorrow morning, so I'm planning to go then. Should have the results by tomorrow night. BUT, I already know it's gonna be positive, I'm very obviously pregnant, and don't have a history of m/c, so I'm just dreading the needle poke.

why even bother with the needle poke if you are positive. No need to hurt yourself to get results you already have

Not to be the party pooper or anything... but I never had a history of miscarriage, until I had one.

I didn't bother to get an early confirmation with Alisha. I had two positive HPT's (a two-pack) and that was enough for me. The only reason I went for confirmation at all at 13 weeks was because I needed it to apply for Medicaid. The nurse came in and announced I was pregnant and I'm like, "Uh huh." Gee...maybe that's why I hadn't had a period in months and I was friggin' huge! Tell me something I don't know.

Lol Teri. I have to get it confirmed with my insurance. You have to get it confirmed, and then you have a talking to by your doctor about what that means. And then you have to go to a Tricare Briefing class about your options for care, and THEN you can set up your first appt.

I have to get a positive blood test before they'll schedule me for my "pregnancy orientation" (yawn) at the hospital. My dr. won't see me until I've attended the pregnancy orientation. ######s.

OMG! I can't believe they bleeped that out! It soooo wasn't a bad word!

Jess, now I'm dying to know what the word was!

I went to a low-cost clinic here in town. I had to go in for a consultation with the nurse before I could see the doctor. It was all the pregnancy do's and don't's plus all the health history questions. How exciting. The highlight was when I got a sample of a teeny tiny newborn diaper. Ahhh... the cutest thing I'd ever seen!

Then I waited another four weeks to have my first appointment. You can see I was still in no hurry. I figured the baby wasn't going anywhere. So I had my first appointment at 18 weeks and my only u/s at 19 weeks, 2 days.

You have to go to a briefing? Thats weird! Here, they make us get blood drawn at the base clinic, then a few minutes later give you a slip stating your numbers, then you go over to Tricare and they give you a providers list. You pick one, they enter it into the computer, and you're good to go.

For me I just took 2 tests and called the dr office. Then they schedule the appointment (last time the 1st one was at 12 wks, this time 10wks). I don;t know why there was a difference.

I had to get mine confirmed, but a urine test taken at the doc's office was good enough--why does it HAVE to be a blood draw??

Oh, the other day it bleeped assets! funny, huh? What was the word, Jess??

The word starts with a B and is a foul word used to describe a child born out of wedlock (used to be anyway, now-a-days we just use it to describe ppl who annoy, lmao.) I tend to shout it at ppl in the midst of board games, so to me, not a curse word at all, lmao.

Lindsey- Maybe it has to do with our base? Or maybe Triwest? What district of Tricare are you in? Our base no longer has a maternity ward so we have to go out "on the town". They try to encourage us to use their doctors, but a different hospital. Not me, I want to deliver at Midlands again.

The briefing is really stupid. It's a few hours long of basic things, and then our options.

I also randomly exclaim that word to people, Jess. Usually while shaking my fist at them.

When I say it I have to put rat before it. Not quite sure why I do it, but it helps with road rage somehow

We're Triwest as well... our base hospital is really just a clinic. No ob or Maternity wards on the base, you have to go off base for that. We also don't have an ER (thats what I thought was the most weird, town is like 15 miles away!). We get to pick between the two towns nearby for our hospital/ob.

(edited, again, to remove the double post.)
