So, I'm grocery shopping and as always the kiddos are asking me for food. Today's pick was grapes. They've been asking me for grapes for literally weeks. You guys know me, I only buy whatever fruits are in season, and therefore the least expensive. Grapes are not in season right now. So, I told them, sorry, but grapes are too expensive this time of year.

So they say okay, and start picking out onions for me (they are such good helpers ) A lady walks up to me and taps me on the shoulder and hands me some money. My first though before I take it, is that I must have dropped it or something. BUT then she says "go buy your boys some grapes!!!" I nearly burst into tears. I think I just stared at her for a minute, about to say no, and then she says "Merry Christmas" with a big smile on her face. So, I took the money, had the boys tell her thank you, and we picked out a bundle of grapes for them.

Is that the sweetest thing you've ever heard?

AWh thats so nice! As you all know I work at a grocery store to, and today I was a cashier and this regular elderly woman, kate came in and she had her food stamps card, but she still owed some money, and was looking through her purse and the nicest woman in front of her gave me the money, looked at kate, and said keep your money, merry christmas. She woman who gave the money looked like she was in tears. Mabye kate said something that touched her? Anyway...it was sweet.

I love it when people are nice like that <3 its makes xmas so much better!!

That was really sweet and nice.

Last Spring, I was outside the grocery store with the girls and I let them sit on the little horse carosel that only costs 25c (it's $1.00 at the mall!) and I didn't have a quarter on me, so (God, I'm such a geek) I started singing, "Horsey, horsey, horsey . . . horsey, horsey, horsey . . ." Some red necky guy, with a six pack in one hand and chips in the other, reached into his pocket, got out a quarter and put it in the slot - all without even looking at me. I said, "Thank you, thank you very much." He just walked away. He must've thought that I was the cheapest person in the world!

I love stories like that! That is what this time of year is about. Reaching out to others and doing something like that is so wonderful.

Wait a minute, Kris!

Your horse is free?! Ours is so not free. Of course, it's only a penny, but it's still not free. They've been a penny since the first store got one in Grand Rapids (where I live). Fred Meijer is not so generous here apparently.

Apparently good ole Fred calls Michigan home, but favors the people of IL with his free pony ride giving. Jerk.
