I am just ready to drop. I didn't get to bed until about 130 because I was having contractions last night...

then Maddie woke up at 3 and she wouldn't go back to sleep. I tried and tried to get her back to sleep, but she just wanted to play! She woke up both the girls. She climbed in bed with Rina for a few minutes, but she just kept talking and carrying on, so I went back in to get her so that Rina could get sleep for school... all the while I'm wondering--how the hell am I going to do this when it's her wanting me and the baby is nursing or needing to nurse... how the hell am I going to do this???

I didn't get back to sleep until about 5... and then she was up again at 7. I am on the verge of a breakdown, I swear it... I just want some freaking sleep... I'm about to have endless sleepless/close to sleepless nights because of a newborn. I just want a couple nights of real sleep first... why is that so much to ask for??

OK... I'm done being a crybaby, now. I just had to get that out...

Just think of it as prepping you for those sleepless nights. Thats what my mom always says.

Ahhh, if I was done there I'd come play with the little monkey so you could get some sleep. That stinks! Does she still nap? Can you catch some sleep then?

I don't want prepping. I want sleep.

Awwwww....Kim. (((hugs))) I'm sorry you can't get any sleep. Unfortunately for you, this is just about the time that Luke will decide to come. They don't want to come when you're well-rested. Trust me. Alisha came when I was just about exhausted enough to die. I slept four hours before my water broke and then I didn't get any more sleep until 65 hours later. 'Twas not fun. This child didn't sleep one bit in the hospital the first night. And I was in one of those BS hospitals where the baby rooms with you the entire time. I would've gladly traded her off for some rest. I think it's the dumbest policy ever. I'll have the rest of my life to be with her, could I get some freaking sleep for one night, people? Then I had a breakdown the next morning when DH arrived. I had let him go home to get some sleep. And the first thing I said to him was that he was spending the night at the hospital that night. So he was the one who got to stay up with the baby who would not sleep AGAIN. And I got maybe four hours sleep. Oh, I will never do that again. The bright spot however was a super nice nurse named Leslie who fed Alisha for me before DH got there that morning and then took her off to the nursery for a few hours so I could get a shower.

I'm sorry you are wanting sleep and not getting it!

I am a total sleeper! I joke that it is my hobby! Luckily I was blessed with a baby who loves to sleep! At the hospital he only cried once or twice a night...once we were home he slept around 6-7 hours at a stretch. I'm sure I'm doomed this time around!!
