I just was looking @ the December Grocery Challenge and saw how much everyone spent and saved! congrats! My question is, where do you get that amount of coupons from? just the sunday paper? or other sources? and rebates, how do you get rebates?
Sunday paper inserts
Blinkies in stores and peelies off packages
free samples by mail usually contain coupons
negative or positive feedback to companies
printables off the internet-- from coupon sites or individual store/product sites
trading coupons with other people
You can get rebates from various stores with rebate programs like Walgreens and Rite-Aid. You can also find rebates in the inserts or on store shelves.
I know that Walmart does accept them. I've never had a problem using them. You'll have to check each other store's policy though. Some places won't accept them at all, or only up to a certain number per transaction, or won't accept a certain type of coupon-- such as ones for free items.
I have stores here that vary on the IP coupon policies. Some say up to 1.00 each, others say any IP except for outright frees. Some will honor BOGO IP coupons, and some won't... just depends on the store. I've never had a problem at WM (aka Hell) either... though I don't go there much at all...when I have--there was no problem.
Most of the coupons that I use are from the sunday paper. I buy a paper each week, and give my neighbors a freebie each week (normally an air freshener, tube of toothpaste, something like that that I got for free) and they give me their weekly coupies too.
I have a friendly RiteAid, that lets me snag the coupons out of left over Sunday papers first thing Monday morning, so I normally get about 3-4 extra sets of inserts from them. I also visit a neighborhood newspaper recycling dumpster and fish out the coupon inserts that ppl have thrown away.
If I know that there's gonna be a really fantabulous sale that I'll need 20-50 coupons for (for stockpiling), then I'll order the coupons from www.thecouponmaster.com.
