I can see the sales, but can't get the perfect scenario.

Here's what I want:

Energizer batteries are $5.29 at CVS. Buy $15 worth and get $5 EBs.

That newly stickied CVS thread has a coupon for $5 off Energizer batteries. I can't use the same printable twice in one transaction (even if I have 30 printed--because the number is the same the cashier told me the computer thinks it read it already).

I also have three $1 off Energizer coupons from the paper.

So, is it best to use the $5 and $1 (even though it's only 29 cents left after the $5 off) off in 3 separate transactions?

Nicole... check out my super saturday shopping thread... that's the way to work it.

You add other stuff, use a 5/15 coupon, the 5.00 battery coupon, the 1.00 manu (that gives you overage! It works!!) and you end up getting a bunch of freebies in the process of getting paid for your batteries!! I need to stop in and get paid for some more stuff, and I'll get my 5.00 EBs back. woot.

I would do 3 seperate transactions.

1 pack batteries $5.29
-$5 CVS coupon
-$1 Manu coupon

$4 filler item (maybe milk and a pack of gum for one trans)

Use $2/10-- printable in the coupon subforum.

Total OOP $2.xx

You could make it better by buy something that would either generate ECB's like the CVS cough drops or Oasis, or something that you have a coupon for.

Then just repeat 3 times. Did I make any sense? My mind is not all together here this morning. lol

But if you use the 5/15 coupon, then you could get more free stuff. Do you need diapers at all?

Diapers-13.99
Batteries-5.29

Total-19.28
-5 batteries
-5/15
-1 batteries
-1 diapers (or a larger coupon if you have it_

7.28 OOP (unless you have EB to use)

x3 transactions=22 or so for 3 mega packs of diapers and 3 packs of batteries PLUS the 5 EB you'd get back so more like 17 for all that.

Or if you don't need diapers or don't ned/want anything else, grab the batteries, a candy for 69 cents and use the 5 and 1 coupon and your total will come to 1 cent! I did this a few times since I ran out of other things to buy. Or some people on HCW mentioned getting small packs of guaze pads or such that are cheap (less than a buck I think they said). Still pay very little OOP and get your 5 EBs.

I am debating about trying to go and do 3 transactions at one time and see if they let me do it...

I think this is what I'll end up doing. I don't know if I should try 3 transactions in one store either. Maybe if there were 2 different cashiers working up front.
Good ideas. Thanks!

Totally makes sense. I'm going to try for Oasis for one of the transactions since I have that $1.50 coupon you showed me.

I would go ahead and try it...and if they say something, just say that you didn't realize...

I have decided not to go. The closest CVS is about 8 miles from here (so about 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back. Even if they let me do all three transactions at one store, I'd be up 5 bucks but would have spent 3 bucks in gas (since the truck only gets about 15m pg in this cold weather! So in the end I'd be up 2 bucks, but out at least 30 minutes...not really worth it...especially since it's super cold and windy today!
