So, a few months back we met with an 'australian shephard' breeder in our area. We met the mother and her other 6 Dogs. We'll, she was bred successfully with another aussie in NYState. And she has since had the puppies and they are now .. 4 weeks old. She also went away on vaca and her other 2 aussie's "made puppies" which was not planned at all! So, she has 18 puppies running around!

So, Saturday @ 4 pm we are going to see the puppies for the first time! I am so excited!

Look @ how gorgeous they are;

We are 4th on the list, we really like all three girls ( the first three pups) and Austin.

Is this going to cost a ridiculous amount of money?

(I'm a party pooper, I know)

Um, yes this puppy will cost $1,000. I started doing at home online work and saved up for the puppy myself, in one month's time. She has them 99% potty trained before they even come home, shots, certificates, the whole sh bang. I have wanted one of these dogs for 3 years now and just wanted to wait until the right time My son is 2 years old and he walks around saying "dag ..dag" all day hehe. it's cute. so, we're pretty excited!

And Kris, trust me i am prepared!

Even though I would never spend that much on a dog, I am happy that you saved for it and didnt charge it

I'm with Liz. Hooray for puppies and not putting puppies on credit cards. Boooo puppies costing a thousand crazy dollars.

Cute puppies. However, I would never in life spend any more than an adoption fee on a dog/cat. There are so many unwanted pets living in shelters that I couldn't justify paying someone to breed more. I can't even go to shelters because I feel so bad for the animals and want to take them all home. I'll probably end up being one of those crazy ladies with 500 cats.

If I was not married i'd have too many cats hehe. We have one cat, and that's all DH wants! Plus, this dog. I am just so proud of myself, this is the first thing i've ever saved up for! so go me. For me it goes a whole lot deeper than just "buying a dog". I accomplished something as well.

I adopted a dog froma shelter and he ended up having parvo...we adopted him for $100 and after the vet emergencies ended up spending $400+, so I wanted to try and make sure, this didn't happen next time, it kind of scared me from shelter as alot of puppies had to be "put down" because, of the disease.

Mandi and Liz-- I have only two cats!! (But that's because I rent and it's hard to find a place that will accept two cats, let alone 500.) So I'm not that little old lady just yet.

Awww, those puppies are very very cute. You are braver than I am. I will never do the puppy thing again after my german shepherd chewed everything in sight for 2 yrs.

We "fostered" two labs, back in 2004-2005. And they we're brother and sister and they destroyed alot of our things! kitchen chairs, jackets, blankets etc.

So, I hope that not to be the case this time, I felt whenever we left, that's when they did something. We bought a crate for the puppy, which the breeder says they do very well in and it's like a "home" for them. So, good thing I am a sahm and have the time for the puppy!
