The other day I came to a realization. I want to grow my hair out for Locks of Love. As soon as I thought that, I just knew I had to do it. I told Chris and he is very supportive about it (well... not much to be supportive of, but he thought it was a great idea.)

So who wants to join me?!

I've done Locks of Love before ... but you may be cooler than I am right now. My hair isn't even to my neck yet and it's pissing me off. I'll for sure say you're rocking for it, though.

Aww, that's sweet Beth! My niece does that every time she grows her hair out and cuts it. I'm willing to TRY but sometimes when my estrogen levels drop due to my POF my hair starts falling out like crazy and it falls out less if I cut it shorter so I may not make it.

How long does it have to be Beth? I might do this with you! My hair is growing like crazy now that I am preggers! I can take advantage of its growth to donate to a good cause!

I think the minimum length is a 10-inch lock, so they can work with it for the wigs. My kids do this.

I am growing my hair out, but unless it goes to my butt again, so that I can lose 10 inches and still have long hair, I won't be donating it.

I'm working to grow my bangs out right now, so I might give it a shot. Where can I find details (because I'm too lazy to go google the site )?

I can never grow my hair that long. I get so annoyed when it's past my shoulder I have to cut it. My friend cut hers a few weeks back and it was 15 inches long. I told her she was awesome.

My DSD has done it. I'm trying to convince her to do it again. She has ridiculously long hair that always gets in the way and it drives me insane. She insists on keeping it that long for now though.

I'd grow mine out but I have insanely thick hair (like 3 times as thick as most people's hair) and it's too much to deal with when it gets too long.

I will! I have incredibly long hair right now, and I'm planning to cut it towards the end of pregnancy when my face gets fat, lol. Right now, it goes about to the bottom of my bra strap.

I normally don't grow my hair out. It's thick and curly/wavy so it looks a lot better shorter. But I felt the need to do this, so I am I do believe it's 10 inches or so, so it may take me a few years, lol. I haven't cut my hair in a year or so and it's about 2 inches down my back. I normally have it between my chin and shoulders, lol.

I've thought about it, but have never done it. My hair is thick and when it gets too long I start to get really bad headaches. Hubby hates me with short hair, so I keep it longer (even though it ends up in a ponytail 99% of the time!) He tells me that if I cut my hair short he will grow a goatee (sp?) and I hate facial hair, so I give in ad keep it long! I usually let it grow until I get headaches and then I cut off 4-6 inches or so....maybe I'll just see about getting more cut!

Supposedly your haircut is free if you are donating too!

I'll try, but my hair seems to stop growing once it gets to be so long I just got my hair cut a few weeks ago, so it is going to take me a really long time to grow it out. Do you normally get your hair trimmed when doing this? My hair will start to look nasty at the ends if I don't get a trim.

Kris, my hair is the same way. When it gets too long it gives me horrible headaches. Even when mine is just below shoulder length it ends up most of the time. My hair will probably never be really long ever again.

I plan to get trims, to keep the split ends in check. But just trims, and no major cuts. Like I said, I think it's going to take years to accomplish.
